Can't believe what a great day I had yesterday. Figured I'd share it with you since it doesn't happen often and despite the fact that I'm sure I'll be jinxing myself. Gotta strike while the iron is hot.
First, I went to Bozeman and got a free owner's manual for the used car I bought a few weeks ago. Then I went to MSU's practice and as usual got to chat with a few people I know and don't know. On the way there I got to drive by the Trump rally parking lot which was fun and historical to see. I'm not sure how many times MSU has hosted a presidential candidate. After going to the presser, I was walking through the new parking lot and a guy from Knife River in a hard hat came walking up to me and I thought he was going to tell me to get out of there. Instead, he started asking about the football team. I told him where I was from and he said he was from Helena, too. Turned out to be Ira Lesage a player for the Helena Senators that I used to cover about 20 years ago. His brothers Austin and Quinn also played for the Senators and that was during their 3-year title run. We reminisced about some of that stuff. Then I picked up my big sister and went to Stacy's for lunch, which is always great. We then drove downtown to see if any Trump/Maga people were out and about but didn't see many and so we drove back up by the fieldhouse around 2-3. They were mostly concentrated up by the fieldhouse and 11th was now blocked off at Lincoln, so you had to weave around Roskie to get back on Lincoln. Then I drove up to the York Bar and Gates of the Mountains to check on some traffic hoses I had placed on Wednesday for the weekend. Popped in the Blackfoot for a beer when I got back in town and ran into a couple friends, then as I was calling it a day and thinking, 'wow, that was good day.' I looked across the street by the library and I see three people walking on the sidewalk. I'm like, no way that's not...but it was. So, I yelled "hey, Sprinkles!" It was Danny and his mom (Danette) and dad (Bill). I kind of felt bad for barging in on them, but I ran over and chatted with them and they, of course, wanted to know all about how the football team looked and how I was doing. Danny told me he'd set me and my relatives from Seattle up with tickets if I get out there and his dad said he'd give me six tickets. Danny was like, what?!! LOL. And I assured Danny that I don't have that many friends! Then I went to Village Inn Pizza and won $5 on a keno machine.
