Re: Parent of the Year?
I don't think anyone is claiming to be a parenting guru here, just different opinions on this guys approach. I too felt like he stooped down to here childish level with this video rant rather then handling the situation with good leadership and an adult perspective. To me as the adult he should have definitely come down very severely on his daughter PRIVATELY. Just my two cents as a parent.
That all being said, the video was very entertaining and I am glad he made it for my own entertainment, but as a parent I would choose to handle the situation differently. Not saying I'm right or that he is wrong, just different.

My sarcasm button must've malfunctioned yesterday...
You're right. A private conversation would have been appropriate, but would not have provided NEARLY as much entertainment for me and allow me to use it as an example of what MAY happen to my kids if they abuse their privileges. I'm still glad he did it.
But seriously...if anyone has advice to guarantee my daughter won't go through that phase, I'm all ears.

such idiots. as a father of a son who took a crack at hockey the last couple years, 200 goals isn't that imressive. there are a couple kids his age that are so far and beyone better than anyone else it's crazy. he played in a 3-3 this fall and i bet one kid had 50+ goals that day alone. he had 9 against my son's team.

Did you get the ref to stop the game when the other team had scored 200 against you?ilovethecats wrote:wbtfg wrote:Speaking of parent(s) of the year.

i didn't have time. i was too busy screaming at the refs because they were missing the other players cheapshoting my son. it was just so blatant and unfair. i was also threatening his coach because he clearly wasn't using my son properly. how is it fair that one of his teammates had 4 goals and meanwhile he wasn't even letting my kid touch the puck. it was a joke. then i had to give the zamboni lady a piece of my mind because she clearly wasn't doing it right. not to mention my boy plays much better on ice that has been skated on some. man he was getting screwed over that day. and just for good measure i screamed at the 12 year old girl working concessions because she was clearly too stupid to consider carrying crunchy cheetos....allcat wrote:Did you get the ref to stop the game when the other team had scored 200 against you?ilovethecats wrote:wbtfg wrote:Speaking of parent(s) of the year.

I assume you've also contacted Peter Fields and Rob Ash letting them know that your kid will be accepting his football scholarship offer he is entitled to for being born in the state of Montana?

Re: Parent of the Year?
Important questions:
Seriously, what is "knee hockey"?
Why are parents like this even allowed to have children? You are keeping stats on your 6 year old? Seriously?
Kids still play hockey in this country?

Of all the sports I have played, (football, baseball, basketball, hockey, tennis, mountain biking, roller disco etc) hockey is by far the funnest game to PLAY. Baseball is my favorite to watch and play. College football is a close second.
Wish my kid wasnt so soft and would like to play hockey.

If ice time were more available here in Billings, I would consider playing a low to non contact type of league. We only have 1 sheet of ice here, should be more considering the size of Billings. Hockey is a hell of a work out...AlphaGriz1 wrote:Of all the sports I have played, (football, baseball, basketball, hockey, tennis, mountain biking, roller disco etc) hockey is by far the funnest game to PLAY. I have heard that about Billings. I played on a intermural team down in Boise one year with a friend of mine who had played all his life. My friend Alan was a very solid player.....me not so much but it was ridiculously fun
