I'm not a member, but I do think the Phone book might have their listing ... or The Google might know about the information you are looking for.BozCatFan wrote:Does anyone know what it costs to be a member of the Ridge? Inititiaion, monthly fees, and if you pay annually?

sure wish they'd do like a partial membership for guys like me that just wanna play hoops. never happen cause they'd probably lose a lot of money 'cause there are a ton of guys who pay good money for a membership and never step one foot past the basketball court! but it sure would be nice.
do you have to know everything to post here? or just think you do?

I used to work there during college, and if you want a good deal go to the Ridge Downtown. You can actually get in a good workout there without a bunch of clowns running around thinking it's a social scene.
Plus in the off hours, like mid-morning or later in the evening, you'll have the gym pretty much all to yourself. It's pretty sweet.

When I joined like ... 4 years ago or so, I think initiation was $175 and I had to sign up for a year just to get the monthly payment down to $51.BozCatFan wrote:Does anyone know what it costs to be a member of the Ridge? Inititiaion, monthly fees, and if you pay annually?

WOW! My LA Fitness membership (new facility) is $29 per month and they have twice the equipment plus the basketball court and a pool.CelticCat wrote:When I joined like ... 4 years ago or so, I think initiation was $175 and I had to sign up for a year just to get the monthly payment down to $51.BozCatFan wrote:Does anyone know what it costs to be a member of the Ridge? I think Gold's is a better gym and better value if you are primarily using weights.

I wanted to avoid calling and talking to their Membership Sales staff. I checked around at work and found out a family membership is about $80 a month they all joined a while ago and don't recall the initiation. We are mostly joining for the pool so we can take our two kids there and run them out of energy in the evenings.

Re: The Ridge Athletic Club
Good for CA. Most Montana gyms aren't very cheap. Gold's was in the $30s when I looked at the same time I was looking before I joined the Ridge. The YMCA in Helena is $35, Broadwater is $55 (for both locations), I don't know what Crossroads is. The new 24 hour ones are under $30, and have brand new equipment, but no other facilities to speak of besides machines.gtapp wrote:WOW! Just weights & machines can be had for around $30, but once you start wanting racquetball, basketball, pools, etc, you are going to jump up to at least $40, up to the $80s.

Are there any indoor tennis facilities in Montana? If so, does anyone know what memberships cost?

There is one in Helena as well, I'm not entirely sure what it costs. Over $400 at least.GrizinWashington wrote:Are there any indoor tennis facilities in Montana? If so, does anyone know what memberships cost?

Last Chance Tennis Center. Pretty pricey from what I understand; three separate courts.CelticCat wrote:There is one in Helena as well, I'm not entirely sure what it costs. The Summit in Kalispell. I am too lazy to find the price, because my gym membership does not include tennis.

Re: The Ridge Athletic Club
Thanks for the info.
Tennis clubs here run the gamut anywhere from the relatively inexpensive dumps (like my club) to the absolute ridiculous (places with valets, juice bars, huge rec areas with plush carpeting, leather chairs, fireplaces, 50 inch plasmas, the works). My club really is kind of a hole (we call it the "Tennis Ghetto"), but whenever we play a USTA match at one of those other clubs, I'm really glad my dues aren't paying for leather furniture no one ever sits in. My club takes care of its 6 courts and its exercise equipment and (most of the time), its locker room. That's all I need from a club. I'll buy my juice at Albertsons.....
I will say, however, that the juice stand girls in those places are usually very, very hot....

I just joined a new club here in CA yesterday. It is three weeks from opening. Brand new everything. It will be $10 per month gauranteed no increase ever. It is good to have competition!
