So, Iran has perfected nukular technology....what if we set about 20 nukes their way right now....that would be effective!

I don't like those guys.

I've met a few people from Iran and from what I gathered from them is that they, and a great majority of the population cannot stand the government at all. But yet they live in fear of the gov't because of fear of capital punishment.

It really is sad because apparently many, many families and individuals are trying to leave Iran in any way that they can because they are in fear of what the government is going to bring upon their country if they start posing a threat to different nations of the world.

I've had about the same experience. I was working with an Iranian guy when we went into Iraq and he said his family still in Iran said "Please come here next!" Another friend just prays for a change, getting rid of the current gov't.

Wow thats a nice story Chi, but really.................but we all know that all Iranians are crazy, nuclear power grabbing, islamoterrorists. They dont even have any decent pop divas like Brittney or Christina so they are hardly believable.

I've had the same experiences. I've never met an Iranian person who liked their government. Of course, you'd expect that from anyone who made an effort to leave Iran (as I've never traveled to Iran). But I think it's safe to say that most Iranians (especially the younger ones and the more progressively-minded Iranians) don't like their government.

But then, we hear about a lot of people in here who don't like our government, either (especially when their party doesn't win all the elections) ... so I don't know what to make of it all.

sure. but you have to admit that 9/11 never happened and it was nothing more than a conspiracy created by bush and his guys in order to declare a war on a country for the sole purpose of oil....

If you'd like a great overview of what regular everyday Iranians think about their country, the U.S. and our combined foreign policies, I urge you to find Rick Steves' "Iran" show on PBS. Terrifically done, and almost certainly the most unfettered access to the Iranian people ever allowed to a Western journalist. I attended a seminar that Steves did here in Seattle on Iran and was blown away by what he was capable of doing there and the things that every day Iranians would tell him. Essentially, they're just like us: They worry about their families; they question whether their country's foreign policy will put their lives in danger; and they worry about paying bills putting dinner on the table every night; Well worth a search on Comcast in order to set the DVR.

Well, we were working at a NUCLEAR UTILITY! You may be on to something!!

And he was annoying. And he picked an "English" name when we moved here and ruined one of my favorite boy names I'd hoped to use for a kid.

You might be right Alpha.

Subtle terrorism is still terrorism.

These people are playing on a whole different level than the rest of the world.

Whats next?

Naming their pets after buttholes like George Clooney, Tim Robbins and Sean Penn?

Persians in a sea of Arabs should be a natural ally of ours. I work with several Iranians, they are generally great engineers and fine people. I think many people on this site listen to way to much Rush Limbaugh.
