Sounds like A-Rod had a "good game" last night. I think Yankee fans have been waiting for this one for awhile.
I think the Yank's O is going to come around, but the pitching appears to be struggling.

I'm gonna cry  Another Braves fan up here? Thought I was all alone--do you have the Fox Sport package so when I go back to the Flathead on weekends I can suffer with someone else?    You know we're going to win the division, then...damn  At least when I'm down there this summer I can go buy $5 beers and peanuts and watch Andruw finally come around.

Yeah, he's on a huge career slump ... he hasn't even been the league MVP since 2003.

Cat Grad,

If you summer in the Flathead, we're going to have to tip a few! And perhaps hit a few, if you're a golfer.

Can't wait until the Yankees come to Seattle so we can see some of their stars such as Tino Martinez, F-Rod and Randy Johnson.

yup a braves fan since like 1988....long suffering if u might say so. We are going to have to keep tab of games on bobcatnation to the annoyance of the nonbelivers ya know.

Buy the way what about the pitcher that got busted for steriroids?

and how much is he makeing???????

I might be stupid but with his paycheck i'd expect a league MVP every year on the year BAC or maby it is just the fisical concervative side of me speaking out here but then again its the yankees, Steinbrenner would pay him that much to be a 3rd sting catcher....what a waste of money....

Of course, he is leading the league in home runs. You're right though; he's definitely not worth the money. Steinbrenner should can him; he's clearly the reason why the Yankees are sucking...

At the expense of getting too technical, philosophies relating to fiscal conservativism really have nothing to do with players' salaries in a free market economic system. That is, unless you want to nationalize the game of baseball. Of course, that would make you a Socialist.

I know people like to ignore this fact because it is convenient to blame the Yankees, but it wasn't Steinbrenner that gave A-Rod the contract it was the Texas owner (Hendrickson I think) and the Yankees weren't the only ones bidding on his services when he became available. As much as I want the Yankees to win, I'm also not overly upset about them losing because I have never been a fan of George buying players. Maybe this will show him that he needs to develop talent again. That is what gave them the initial great run - Bernie, Jeter, Posada, Rivera, Pettite, and smart aquisitions of free agents that didn't break the bank - O'neil, Brosius, Tino, Cone, Key, Wells, Wetland. It also doesn't hurt to have flukes like Spencer and Curtis have great stretches at the right time.
