I don't agree; I love ALL KINDS of different music, including JT! Nothing nerdy about that. My current favorite disc is Green Day's latest, "American Idiot".

Funny thing is, I never considered that "punk rock" until I saw them being referred to that way on TV the other day...

I wholeheartedly agree on your current favorite album. A lot of people I know claim they are wearing that CD out from playing it so much. Pretty catchy stuff.

My brother refuses to like it for political reasons, but I think most people just enjoy it and don't worry too much about the message. Punk rock is supposed to be anti-authoritarian -- they would lose their street cred if they actually liked "the man."

I saw Green Day on VH1 doing some Storytellers thing last month.

Any punk cred they may have had prior to that is now gone. They are adult alternative now.

That's funny. I guess all those kids wearing the black Ramones t-shirts everyone will have to go back to pretending that the Ramones were actually a good band. The contemporary torch-bearers are now officially sell-outs.

Reading the last few posts reminds me how harmful LABELS can be...

YOU DAMN LIBERALS!!!!!

Seriously, though; put Green Day in any "pigeonhole" you want, I still like their music.

First CD I ever bought was Weezer. I love those guys, even though they are big time drug users. I love their new single “Beverly Hills.”

I couldn't agree more! Once you are on VH1 you are old people music

I really like Big & Rich, Jet and Audio Slave. I do not enjoy any other groups that are relatively new in the music industry, or that makes albums on a regular basis.

There jag, I made some edits to accommodate your feelings. But I would like to add that the Griz SUCK.

mquast53000: I hate your choice of words, "sucks" does it make you feel better telling someone else the music they like to listen to is bad?

2 questions

Have you listened to all the suck new music on the airwaives?
Do you have some music knowledge that would qualify you to rate all other music as sucky?

Just becouse you can't relate, or groove, to a band doesn't mean they suck.

I'll take Waylon, Willie, Johnny, Hank Jr and Sr., and old Strait.

Or if we are going new ones, Shooter Jennings, Big and Rich, Toby Keith, and new Strait.

Throw in some good 80's butt rock if I'm getting too hokey.

met and squeezed Dierks (be still my heart ) 2 months ago, met him via radio guy my friend knows out here in seattle. He was way laid back and awesome guy, totally enjoy him, so i'm sure he'll be great on stage. It should be really fun, and besides, I just wanted another shot at checking out his buns in tight jeans

AC/DC and the gym go hand in hand! I never really liked any group that made their first album after 1980 but my son showed up with "Three Doors Down" last summer and I kept it when he went home.
