HOW DO I......?

OK, geeks; I need some help.
How do I "shrink" a picture that is greater than 6 kb so that I can use it as an avatar?

I have a little picture viewer/editor called LView that allows limited editing of pictures (Jpg, gif etc.). My version is a "free download" version. I believe LView has many versions of products that do cost $$ now so you might have to look a little harder. ACDEE may also have a simple free version that does that.

If you're running Office, you can resize the image with either Photo Editor or Photo Manager (name is different depending upon your version of Office).
Oh yeah--I'll forgive you the "geek" comment.

Wow, MSLA, I'm impressed.
I can only claim "geekness" to my days at BSHS when I was joking with my friends about how "someday the computers will be 32-bit" (and here we are on the verge of 64-bit only two decades later.
