America's Fittest Universities

According to Men's Fitness magazine, BYU is the "fittest" school in the nation.

But my favorite line is this one.
"Topping the list of the fattest schools: University of Louisiana at Lafayette, followed by University of New Orleans, Mississippi State University, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and
Portland State University. "

Wow, I just got done reading that same article, and noticed PSU as well.
It read to me like the survey was skewed by some things that would hurt commuter schools like PSU, such as participation rates in intramural sports and the % of people who use on-campus workout facilities. When most of your students are nontraditional students (many of whom are working), you're just not going to turn up very well in something like that.
Seeing as how Oregon is one of the fittest states in the country, it doesn't stand to reason that PSU is actually any fatter than any other campus. It is probably a lot older and less involved in campus activities, however.

I have to agree that PSU is placement isn't too fair. Oregon is crazy healthy. I think the number of fat people here per capita has to be less than half of the normal number. You truly don't see that many over-weight people here.

Yes, I saw an article last week and ONLY Oregon didn't have an increase in the Obesity rate last year they stayed the same.
