Anyone heard any rumors about this big announcement from MSU on Monday? Must really be something as I'm getting snail mail notices as well as e-mail reminders of time and location. Assume it's about the College of Engineering as that is where the announcement is taking place.

Nothing here. Thanks for the teaser though. Looking forward to hearing what it is.

Yeah, he's a Winifred kid.
That aside, this is great -- love to see those who have had so much success in their own lives turn around and give to help the next generation fulfill their own huge potentials.

I was reading some on the comments on the bookface announcement. Some people will never be happy about anything ever...

It's sad reading a lot of the comments.

What's the gist of what they were saying?

Wide variety but some of my favorites are:
Maybe you should donate to the poor or an organization that actually needs it
There needs to be a watch dog over site committee to over see how the funds are spent ... Or msu will spend it all on their ****** assed sports teams and unwarrented venues..z
Does this mean tuition won't go up?
Those are just off the FB link although I have a couple of friends are saying similar things. As with many things like this, people don't understand that he isn't handing MSU $50 million to do whatever they want. People griped about the same thing with the stadium expansion, Jake Jabs's donation, etc, etc.
Anyways, back to the original point: good on Mr. Asbjornson to continue his generous donation to MSU and the College of Engineering. MSU is in a very good spot right now and hopefully that will continue on into the future. GATOS!

The people saying that it should be given to an organization for the poor are exactly right. Give this money away one time instead of making an investment that will pay off for the next 100 years. Greedy pri*ks.

Not greedy, just ignorant fools who have nothing better to do than complain. Probably the same libtards that voted for Obama in order to "get my piece of the pie, man".

Asbjornson is a big time philanthropist who has given a substantial amount of money to numerous charities.
Mr. Asbjornson is yet another reason I am proud to be a bobcat.
