I haven't updated this in years:

He's one of the few people from Winifred I'm not related to, but I've had the honor of getting to know him a bit over the years from running into him in Winifred and a phone call here and there. Very friendly and sincere guy.

It's the largest private donation in Montana history. When Jake Jabs donated $25 million in 2011 it was the largest private donation to Montana higher education. BOTH to good old MSU! =D^ \:D/

These are very exciting times for MSU. I suspect that both of these gifts are going to lead to MSU being a force in the region (and in the country) in terms of attracting and creating exceptionally well-prepared engineers and business grads (with lots of cross-education between the two colleges) who are ready to create their own innovations and businesses shortly after graduation. That, coupled with the business incubators in Bozeman, are going to lead to Bozeman (and expanding through the rest of the state) being a hub of tech innovation and jobs in the region.

My fingers are still tingling as I type this -- I am so excited about what the future holds for MSU and the State of Montana as a result of these gifts!

Absolutely tremendous gift from this man - loved his quote on gratitude and stewardship...
"I think it's an absolute must for everyone to give back to what made them successful. I had a lot of help from MSU and Winifred," Asbjornson said. "I can't repay those who helped me, for they're gone. But I can give to the next generation. I think everyone should balance the books and thank those people and institutions who helped them and also give to the next generation.

"It's a responsibility we all have."
