I work as an attorney so that I can afford good scotch, which helps me to forget that I work as an attorney.

Sheehan and several dozen other protesters sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests

i belive that we have had that law for ever

It's brilliant PR for the anti-war crowd, really.

The numbers on the two demonstrations were quite telling. 100,000 turn out to protest the war, and the pro-war demonstration pulled in 500 ... people. It's always going to be easier to rally people against a war as opposed to in favor of a war ('cause war is bad, umkay?), but it seems that it is getting harder and harder for even the people who a few months ago were adamantly pro-war to remain upbeat about the idea. It seems like the mood of the country has really been shifting over the last six months.

I'm not sure of the reasons, whether it is just fatigue, or something else.
