The Sunday night game just got over (Pat's & Bills)- good game, but I'm wondering if anyone else is thinking that Joe Theisman is the poorest excuse for a sports commentator that ever hit the face of the earth.

Tim McCarver is the worst.

There are lots of them: Gifford (in his later years), Namath, Buck, Madden, Dierdorf (sp), Miller, etc.

You mean, "Joe-when-I-played-QB" Theisman?

I don't mind Joe Buck, but I cant stand Madden.
"If the...if the ... if the quarterback if errr.. if ,if he throws the ball...and the...and the rrr... and the receiver catches it in the...in the endzone...thats gonna be...that'll be..that right there...that errr...and that...thats a...errr its a....a touchdown" - John Madden
"Thanks, John" - Pat Summerall
"Here's a guy, who when he puts his contacts in he can see better" - John Madden
Anyone heard Frank Caliendo do the impersonation of Madden? I've heard it a hundred times and I still laugh it every time.

I believe I read somewhere that Joe Theisman is going to be the color analyst for Monday Night Football when it goes from ABC to ESPN (I think that it is in 2007.)

Theismann is really bad. But I have to agree that Tim McCarver is the worst. NOBODY LIKES HIM. And we forgot about Scott Guernsey. He's just as bad.

Do you guys know he grew up as Joe "Theezeman" but Notre Dame's publicity department changed the pronunciation to rhyme with a certain trophy and the new name stuck.
