Ahhhhh, the good old days. The original cast. Eddie Murphy, Chris Farley, Mike Meyers. The 2000 Election debacle.

Does anyone watch it anymore? Even though we get ND TV, so it's on at 9:30 here, we rarely do. It's just not the same anymore.

Deep Thoughts.

IMO, it's all been downhill since the late 70's/early 80's.

It would be impossible to top the original cast: Murray, Belushi, Ackroyd, Chase, Radner, Curtin, Morris...

Certain years/casts slowed the slide (Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler), but they still never came close to making me schedule my Saturday night around the TV.

Look at the movies the "originals" produced: The Blues Brothers, Caddyshack, Animal House, Stripes, Fletch, GhostBusters...

Compare that to the garbage that the SNL "stars" come out with today; other than Eddie's "trifecta" (48 hours, Trading Places (with Ackroyd), and Beverly Hills Cop) and ALL of Mike Myer's efforts, the rest of them are pretty pathetic and PALE in comparison, IMO.

I would agree to some extent.

Although I loved the original Austin Powers, and Adam Sandlar seems to have grown up. His last few, 50 First Dates, Anger Management, and Spanglish are not the same dumb humor, they are really quite good.

I have no idea why, but "Goldmember" cracks me up. My kids/family/friends use lines from that movie every day, baby, yeah!

Schmoke & a pancake....?

I was not impressed with the second one, so never saw the third.

I do think there was good SNL after the original, maybe because the mid 80's was the main time I watched it. Mr Bill, Tounces the Driving Cat, Massive Headwound Harry.

It's hot in the hot tub!

My personal favorite cast was the one whilst at MSU: Myers, Carvey, Sandler, and Farley.

I think Dana Carvey was the best actor ever on that show--great impersonations, and a Montanan, too!

I think the original cast was good, too, but I was too young  to watch them.

Will Farrell is pretty good. My favorite skit ever is without a doubt the Blue Oyster Cult - Behind the Music when Walken was the show host.

I gotta have mor cowbell!

I can't stadn Mike Meyers, or any of his movies. How could you not like Happy Gilmore, though - the price is wrong, bitch.

LOL...

"So instead of punching him, you punched Bob Barker. Oh, and who won that fight, by the way?"

Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy were funny, but I think more "guy humor."

But if you're Gay and you like Beer. Try Schmidt Gay Beer.
