How 'bout them Chargers?

Post by El_Gato » Sun Dec 25, 2005 10:58 am

After watching all the aftermath of the Chargers win over Indy last week, did it surprise ANYONE that San Diego followed up that huge win by laying an egg at KC yesterday?

One item in particular caught my attention (and disgust): On ESPN, Monday I believe, Drew Brees introduced himself thusly: "Hi, I'm Drew Brees of the San Diego Chargers, the Charger team that just knocked off the 13-0 Indianapolis Colts..."

It was at that moment that I WANTED San Diego to lose and miss the playoffs; how come Brees didn't introduce himself as being from the "Charger team that just got beat by the terrible Miami Dolphins" the week before?

It reminded me of all the griz fans reminding us that despite getting their arses kicked by the Cats, they would be going to the playoffs and we would not. Of course, they then went out and "pulled a Charger" the very next week against Cal Poly...

Why do people set themselves up like that?

On a related note, howsabout them Broncos?? WOOHOO 12-3 baby! Unfortunately they sustained a lot of injuries last weekend. 7 defensive players were listed on the Injury report for this weekends game versus the chargers, 4 of which are starters (Williams, Wilson, Brown, Gold). Mike Anderson and Ashley Lelie were also banged up in the game against the Raiders.

Four Ruled Out for Saturday

Anderson, Brown, Williams and Wilson Won't Play
It appears Bradlee Van Pelt will see some action at QB, and I am excited for him. He was one of my favorite college players when he played for Colorado State. Tough as nails. Reminds me of Dennis Ericson (sp?).

Anywho, enough of this rambling. I see the Chargers beating the Broncos this weekend, at San Diego, but resting starters for the playoffs is necessary.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
