I know this is not really sports related but Romney used to be a gymnasium, so....., here are some photos I took today of the grand opening. If you have ever been in Romney before this revitalization, then you will know how big a deal this is.









You can see the impressions from the wood grain in the forms used back in the 1920s when the poured the concrete.

Amazing transformation. I can still remember running laps on the upstairs running track and hitting the banked corners and the sound it made. Also watching VBall practice and intramurals etc was always a great diversion while working out.

Now, it's a cool new space for meetings and learning!

Thanks for those. Bitter sweet as that was my favorite gym in town growing up. But love the new look and love how they incorporated the court.

Thanks for the pictures! So many memories. The room on the bottom level with the big concrete beams overhead — played intramural basketball in there and those beams blocked many a nice corner jumper. The rule was “play it”. I played on that upstairs floor many, many times — and attended my first sporting event of any kind there when my parents took me to watch my uncle play for the Eastern Montana Yellowjackets in the winter of 1951-1952. I was two years old and got hooked on basketball. My uncle is still doing very well, by the way.

I remembered shooting hoops with my wife in the early 90's on Friday nights in there. What a transformation!!

Another incredible project for this leadership team! So proud to be a Bobcat!

Took a walk through of Romney Hall today before the game. Excellent finished product that preserves the nostalgic feel of the building. A+

I remember going to the gym during winter conditioning and using the gym a few times (basketball must have had all the other spaces at the field house). I am really impressed with the effort to keep the historic feeling with the renovation.
