Ok, so there is obvious debate about the Super Bowl, but how about the ads. Which was your favorite? I Think I hit the top ads with the poll, but I am ok with write-ins if I missed one.

Have to go with the FedEx Caveman one, that was classic. Along the lines of good Office Space humor.

Close seconds to the Bud Light Magic Fridge and Grizzly Bear ads.

I actually had a hard time, as I was making the poll each new commercial I thought of made me laugh again. Those Ameriquest ones were pretty dang good, but the thing that sealed the deal on me voting for the hidden beers was the Terry Tate like hit laid down on the boss.

I was torn between the caveman one, and bud lite's bear and hidden beer ones, but had to go with the hidden beers. It was one of the first ones I saw and it had me rolling.

I actually was a little disappointed with a lot of the commercials this year, but that might have just been me.

I liked the Ameriquest ones the best.

One that you forgot was the hot blonde getting taken out in the football game then returning it in the bar. I think it was for Bud Select Amber.

My split goes to hidden beer and caveman, with hidden beer getting the nod.

A question a friend and I were batting around this morning was wondering which sets of commercials were the most effective -- the funny commercials or the more subtle commercials that are part of a larger campaign? In terms of brand identity/loyalty, does comedy attract people to a brand in the same way the other emotions do? I'd like to see some people much smarter than me (any marketing MBAs in the house?) write something up on that.

To me, it seems that my favorite commercials (that are based purely on entertainment value) are rarely the ones that are the most effective in terms of encouraging me to buy something from that company.

I don't know if any of the ads(funny, emotional, etc.) inspire loyalty, but I do know if you flop during the Super Bowl it can have a negative impact. Everyone that I watched the game with said they would like to go out of their way to avoid Burger King after they made us suffer through their 60 second Las Vegas show.

I liked the Fed Ex Caveman kicking the whatever out of whatever it was. Followed by the Sheep Streaker.

Yuck! I hope Pepsi and Burger King fire the people responsible for their ads. They should be paying us to watch that garbage.

Seriously, who thought "Brown and Bubbly" was a good description for anything. I know it is true, but I don't like to think of anything brown and bubbly.

As far as commercials go, I really liked the Clydesdale one. It was nice. I also liked the mobile ESPN one. But for funny ones, it's a tie for me between the magic fridge and the beer for the bear. They weren't as funny as the horse farting 2 years ago or the upside down clown stopping for a beer, but they were good. These were all Bud Light commercials. I don't drink beer, but they have the best ads year in and year out.

And those Burger King commercials don't make me want to eat there, that's for sure. What in the hell were they thinking?

I thought the very last part of the BK ad where they started piling onto one another was funny. Other than that, no.

I've seen plenty of brown and bubbly, and I usually think "that's gonna lead to diaper rash."
