Ironic quote of the day

Post by SonomaCat » Fri Mar 10, 2006 1:08 pm

"I'm concerned about a broader message this issue could send to our friends and allies around the world, particularly in the Middle East," the president said. "In order to win the war on terror we have got to strengthen our friendships and relationships with moderate Arab countries in the Middle East."

G.W.B. ... forgetting the unilateral approach to foreign relations that made him who he is ... and got us where we are.

I thought the exact same thing when I read that across the ticker today.

What concerns ME most about the port issue, is that what an emotional reaction to the whole thing was by our elected officials. That concerns me because it tells me that our elected officials are not thinking clearly about the decisions they make on our behalf - they are just reacting, and that is a BAD thing.

The other message that has been sent out clearly is that our President just became completely IRRELEVENT! That, in some ways, might be a good thing now, but not so good for the next president. Here's to a speedy 2 1/2 years! We can't get rid of this guy fast enough.

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.
