I don't really think she is either. I just saw this on the net and I laughed out loud.Bay Area Cat wrote:I don't think Hillary is literally a communist or anything (and she certainly isn't a proponent of the former Soviet Union), but she has a lot more desires for the U.S. to be a nanny state than I would like, as evidenced by the article.

Here is my main problem with Hillary.
"Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Sen. Clinton said. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
Karl Marx was rarely this direct.

But if the common good she is talking about is balancing the budget to keep our economy going in the right direction, as opposed to merely raising taxes as a means of redistributing wealth, she may have a good point. But I agree that her choice of words is creepy.PapaG wrote:Here is my main problem with Hillary.

Well, balancing the budget by raising taxes isn't exactly a direct deposit. Many factors are involved, most of them bad at this point in time.Bay Area Cat wrote:But if the common good she is talking about is balancing the budget to keep our economy going in the right direction, as opposed to merely raising taxes as a means of redistributing wealth, she may have a good point.
