strange demographic

just fluff really, but I find myself in this strange demographic of the population. 32, full time mom, married (young) with kids in grade school and pre school, T-ball mom, Pony mom, with excessive volunteer agendas. I am starting to transition back into University and the "work force". Have great opportunity to participate as counselor/riding instructor for program here in WA that pairs up equines with kids that are high risk. Dream job really for me if I can find suitable care for 3 year old daughter during the day. Curious to find others like me, as we have very few female Bobcat posters. Please we need more female posters.

enjoy you men, like the discussions on BN, oh and fair warning to those that read my posts Brian deploys again in June 2006 until September 2007, so prepare yourselves for "hubby" questions :D home maintenance and car questions are most likely to occur during his time in Iraq.

NO!!!!

Just was talking with other people (neighbors) and found myself the odd ball out. Curious if other females (minus ryecat, chio, and hello kitty) read these forums.

there aren't many female bobcats on here, and Heather and i are close in age with the little ones at home, so we get a different view of things going on.

just would like to BS with other parents. Problem with that?

did I not headline it strange demographic?! For my age group it is strange to be home full time as a mom with kids my age and no career. hell when i gave birth all i heard was how odd it was to be so young married with a college education and wanting to have babies. usually the women are either young, unmarried with little or no college education, or older married and career established.

would like to meet others that are involved with the same types of things I enjoy. did i not describe those things in a way that was appropriate? not out to offend.

BGriz - thanks for the kind words.

Just seeing if there were "normal" parents out there that might want to do like a Cats Cubs thread - where you can discuss family or family issues and just good to connect with alumni that are in a family way. we're Army orphans out here in WA, no family, but I know many MSU/UM grads are out here.

Also, stressing the "normal" aspect of the type of parents I'd appreciate meeting. The last 3 (2 moms and a dad) are making me question if I should even attempt to enlarge the social circle I already have. there are some people out there even more crazy than me! :D

I think your idea of a Cats Cubs thread would be a good one. I am a female Bobcat supporter and while I don't post much, I lurk frequently, especially at work because when I get home, the real WORK starts! I have 2 younguns, 3yo and 4 months. It would be nice to discuss family topics with other cat alumni. :D :D Count me in!

I guess I dont think being a mom at 32 is that strange. I hope by the time I am 32 I will have kids also. My older friends in thier 30's all have kids. The Cub Club does sounds like a great idea! I am sure there are men and woman that would appericate the chance to chat about kids.

I think my wife might participate. All we need is two people addicted to Bobcat Nation in my house.

You might want to call it something other than the "Cub Club", since we all know that a Cub is a Baby Bear.

It could be the Kit Kat Club!

Full disclosure: That's also the name of a strip joint that I used to live near.

Actually no... but I do have a talent of "stealing" other people's posts and putting them together.

I'm glad others like the idea, as 95% of my own posts include family/kids in them, that way we can contain that talk to it's own section of the board.
I've had some interesting encounters with other parents, and I'm starting to question if it's a good idea to try to meet new people here in WA. the last 3 have me wanting to be very discriminating in nature now.

I was so excited when one of the local moms in the nieghborhood invited me to join her and a few other moms for a little get together, but was shocked after meeting the "group". This is no joke, this actually happened. got there and she's from Australia, very nice, and when one of the others asked her what she did for a living her 5 year old peeps up "my momma's such a good dancer, that they actually PAY her!" us other moms were speechless and she chimes in "oh yeah that's how we bought the nice home and cars I stripped for 11 years, and did adult entertainment!"

the next was a single dad who trains horses and his little girl does Jr. rodeo, I was thinking oh this is so great my kids are into horses, and love rodeo and my son really wants to be a roper. This guy rode broncs and roped, i was excited to learn more, as I only show English, and my boy wants to rope. After 3 weeks of nice talks he blurts out " I may love rodeo, but I love to go down on pretty gals more!" that was the "well it was nice meeting you" moment.

the third crazy can't decide if she wants to bunk down with a 25 year old or a 28 year old, so she's rotating her "man pie" in and out of her house so often that her 4 year old asked me if i knew which one was going to be her new daddy.

see why I want "normal" parents to discuss family with?

by the way we're now skateboarding, I'm no Tony Hawk, but after a week i'm still alive and well :D things are looking up!
