Thanks Grizzlies.

Must admit, I've spent quite a bit of time over on the dark side getting their perspective as to what we still are wondering about with regards to the events involving our former athletes. Virtually all of their regulars have been very supportive of our school, administration and coaches as virtually all of us in here have been. I suspect some of the negative comments here by would be Cats are the same individuals with a different screen name claiming to be Grizzlies on the other site. Suppose that would be a job for the moderators to determine and share information, but I really want to express my appreciation to all those who share our concern for the kids who are involved in this--especially those who we would least expect to support our college in any shape or form. Thank you UM.
Now, for what it's worth, in the early 60s this was a regular event in Bozeman. Even the archives of the Comical will show some pretty bad situations back then involving our college kids and teams.
Not to minimize what has happened, but most of my teaching and coaching career was spent in school systems where this was routine. My first high school football game in Georgia, the stands cleared out because rival gangs chose that site to settle their differences during the game. I've read some comments charcterizing our kids as "not from Montana" to "from the ghetto" that bothers me terribly and some from folks I suspect are in education that reveal a subtle undertone that really bothers me. Kids are kids and sometimes they make poor decisions. My first post on this event, I asked everyone to rally behind our administration and trust in their leadership. I know they will do what is right and afford everyone an opportunity to live, work, and play in a safe college atmosphere. Please, trust them to continue doing an outstanding job.
