Remember when you were in college, you would do anything to justify getting drunk. At least in my case the legal drinking age was 19 and I turned 19 two months after arriving at MSU. Thus the TV drinking game was invented. When I was in school the most popular game we played was "Hi Bob" based on the Bob Newhart reruns of the 70's, although the "Batman game" was somewhat popular. The rules of Hi Bob were simple, every time a character said "Hi Bob" you had to take a shot. The room was wasted before the end titles.
Now that we are all older though, our drinking games need to mature and reflect a more politically correct Drinking game. "Thus has the Fox News Network Drinking Game" been invented. It is only slightly more complicates than drinking games of the past, but still simple enough that you can still understand the rules up to a blood alcohol rating of .17. Here are the rules.
1. First all off all your friends who are members of AA shall be considered to be on the "right side of the room" now whether they are actually have to sit on the right side of the room is up to you. The Non AA member shall be considered to be on the "left side of the room".
( This first rule is a reflection of understanding the individual needs of different diverse groups while playing a drinking game, and also the resultant of the effects of playing "Hi Bob" in the past)
2. Now every time a Fox News celebrity uses a term "Liberal fill in the blank" such as "Liberal whack job" or "Liberal elitist" the left side of the room takes a shot. Now every time a Fox News celebrity uses a term "Conservative" fill in the blank" such as "Conservative money grubber" or "Conservative hypocrites" the right side of the room takes a shot.
That's it!
Now the advantages of this game:
- You don't need to wait till 6:30 for Bob Newhart to come on, Fox is 24/7.
- AA member will feel like they are participating in a "Fair and Balanced" game and yet not go off the wagon and well those of us still on the left side will still have a good time (until we are forcefully moved to the right).
Just a couple notes:
-You can play this game with CNN but both sides get a little to drink but not much of a buzz.
- You can play this game watching Keith Olberman's Countdown on MSNBC, BUT beware Olberman often tries often plays clips of Fox News route out truths and falsehoods in reporting the end result could be left and right side polluted be the end of the "worst person in the world" segment.
Enjoy!!!
