Billings Murder verdict

How many of you have been following this? Apparently their name is well known in the Billings area. I've lived in Billings (recently just moved back) for about 12 years and I've never heard of them. I heard they were trying to intimidate the jury, attorney's, and such. Sounds like a bad family with many in federal prison.

Went to Junior High with a couple members from that family. Even then it was a well known name.

I lived in Billings from ages 8 to 17, graduated from West, and that name means nothing to me.Cat-theotherwhitemeat wrote:What are they well known for? I am very surprised that the gazette had two huge pictures of the key witnesses in the paper the other day.

Guess you had to be one of us lowly "south-siders."

kind of off topic, but after looking at the gallery, what the hell were those 14(at the time) year old girls doing at that place with losers in their mid 20's. i am in no way condoning anything here, but it's always been my belief that if you grow up trash, are allowed to be trash, hang out with trash, and be trash all the time, with no parental guidance, this type of trash happens.

I checked out the Inmate Locater website for MSP, and the Navas from Billings appear to call Deer Lodge their 2nd home. "Jimmy Joe," Junior, Linea, Sam, "Lil Vic" (2 tours of duty) and Steve all were guests of the state for the more serious drug offenses. Tanya was their for assaulting a peace officer, and Tim was in for a murder conviction.

I have mentioned this numerous times before but I think this is a case where maybe we as a state need to look at "fixing" some cronic criminals. I know the ACLU would have a problem with my idea but this blood line needs to be brought to an end. Think of it as just assisting "natural selection" just a little bit

Riverside is where I went to school with them at, though it wasn't quite 25 years ago. Don't remember anyone from that family being at West when I was there however.MAGOO wrote:My wife taught at Riverside Jr. High (southside) 25 years ago, and she said the Nava's (probably aunts and uncles to these two) were bad actors even back then. (Of course, my wife is 30 years older than I am.)

I was a long time school administrator. It was noted by several teachers at many schools, the size of the family of the lower intelligent students was usually larger. (I now there are many exceptions) It was brought up frequently after meetings that to assist this dumbing down, we should consider this method.mslacat wrote:I feel terrible!! Unfortunately, probably not. In my experience around Billings I think there are plenty of idiots who would be more than happy to fill any void in crime rate that may bring (present company excluded of courseCat-theotherwhitemeat wrote:So, would the crime rate in Billings go drastically down if we just had the BPD follow this family around?
