No kidding. Remember what Lulay said last year when asked what he thought about people in Missoula calling the game Griz/Cat? It was something along the lines of "(laughing) They call it that? Wow, that's pretty lame."

I spent the majority of my life in Montana and hear it all the time. Heard it several times just last week while in Missoula.

The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

Didn't you know? We voted Missoula out of Montana. It's now officially Missoula, America. And, I hear that America is thinking of kicking it out too. :)

you're kidding right? i mean it is one thing to want to change it so that griz goes first if you are a griz fan, but i've really only heard griz fans forcing that name over the last couple years. grew up in the flathead and was surrounded by griz fans (heck, even wore a Bobcat Busters shirt in highschool - ala ghost busters - hate to admit it, but its true) and never heard grizcat. unless you are about 5 years old, it is hard for me to believe that this has been around the majority of your life (not trying to say you are a five year old either --- sorry)?

as far as hearing that around missoula recently, i don't doubt it.

oh well . . . i won't change you - you won't change me type of things.

Please don't try to tell me that cat fans wouldn't change it if it were the other way around, part of being a fan is being biased towards your team

I agree. I grew up about 30 miles out of Missoula, and I don't recall ever hearing it until recent years.

you are probably right, but you know when you hear it for almost 40 year one way from both sides . . . get the point?

I grew up several years in Missoula, and all but 3 years of my 24 in Montana. It wasn't until about 2002-2003 that I ever heard griz/Cat. My parents were both big Griz fans - hell so was my entire extended family, and they never called it griz/Cat.

Jelly and Peanut Butter ..... Yeah, Griz fans do have weird thinking that is for sure. I'm sure they call it Crackers and Cheese when they are drinking their wine at the games too :)

I'm still waiting for whichever insecure Griz fans prefer the griscat name for the rivalry game to make the argument that UM should be listed first in all boxscores ... even if they are the home team.

It's Cat/Griz. Momma always told me, "ladies first".

And I guess it is worth noting that the only real motivation any of the people who use the griscat name seem to have for using it is to try to annoy Bobcat fans.

So if they want to use griscat instead of Cat/Griz, that's fine by me.

It is their pettiness and insecurity. Just makes them look small. (How they really are!)

Oh yeah, I forgot that we were going to get personal too (thought we were saving that). Yeah, that Lulay did nothing but help bring winning seasons back to the Cats, set a bunch of records, pass a lot and beat the Griz three out of four (one as a freshman even). I'm glad we are running that guy down cause that's what we do best. What a loser!

Hey Swilly, see you at mall later? Maybe we can cruise for chicks?
