Holland Classic Lobster Claw

Post by CARDIAC_CATS » Wed Apr 14, 2004 3:49 pm

Hey there, does anyone know if you have to buy the 75.00 Lobster dinner in order to get into the Booster function at the Grantree? I was thinking of bringing up a few friends to this, but one of them is allergic to shellfish (sucks to be him :) and he doesn't want to pay that obviously as he can't eat.

Just curious if the dinner and party/booster session are separate or whatever?

Thanks in advance!

We also went last year, had a great time, met a lot of great folks. Will be there Saturday night as well, but I'll trade you my lobster for your baron of beef slice.

kind of suprizes me there have been only three responses...this is really a function that is affordable...and i'm not a wealthy guy...and fun...just a lot of really nice people...

all of that repeated...i'll take you up on that trade...now all i have to do is look for the guy with the placard that says "will trade for beef"...unless there is an easier way to figure out who you are...

Now that spring drills are wrapping up for D-1A schools across the country, does anyone know if Kramer has any feelers out for possible drop downs, I assume he does. We could really use some depth and beef on the DL along w/ DB depth.

I cant make the scrimmage tomorrow, so if anyone could ask coach about this.

I think somebody said at the Helena meeting that William Kofe is going to try and play in the Pac 10, so he won't be coming back to MSU.

KP 73...gotta confess though the lobster was pretty tasty...sorry i did not respond to your e-mail earlier but i'm not sure how to pick up the response...anyway i hope you enjoyed the festivities....

a late report on the scrimmage and lobster feed...have been very busy...

i went to the scrimmage and got an eye full...i think this is the biggest group of kids ever to play for the cats...i only count three kids on the roster under 5' 9"...and a great bunch of athletes...

running back looked great...both gathing and McI have great elusivness...quick feet and good shoulder movement...perfect for changing direction...gathing packs a load coming off tackle...he likes to punish the corners and lbs...

the secondary looked great with force showing super athleticism and three picks...although with the jcs coming in anticipate some fierce competition for positions...

the o-line looked good...although young...even with some out convalesing...

quarterbacks with improve both looked like the rest of the team was playing at their level...the receivers particularly the tight ends performed beyond my expectations...there is great speed and power...at last more than one or two to go to....

talked to several coaches...mcendoo...bailey and kramer...bailey seemed relieved to have more offensive options to develop the offense with this fall...he is looking forward to throwing to the tight ends...often...

mcendoo says there could be at least one or two more offensive linemen in the works perhaps a d-1 drop...

talked briefly with clive lowe, dusty daws...whose shoulder is coming along well...various parents and others...

lulay's brother was in for the scrimmage...he looks very much like travis...kind of wierd...same build etc...talked for a few minutes with morris milton...he got his ankle a little banged up in scrimmage but he told it was really nothing to worry about...seemed like a real likable kid...

Couloir41 - The shrimp and meatballs filled me up, but watching Pete Fields stick his finger up the lobster's butt to get the tail meat out would have killed my remaining appetite in any event. I did mention to him I would like to see some nice grilled cuts of Angus beef next year. We'll see.

I second the vote on the video, it was a highlight of last year's event. The smiles when the players got their championship rings this year were great, though!. I've got a pic of my kid wearing his, if he says its OK to post it, I'll put it up here.

I'll echo the generally favorable report on the scrimmage. Thought the defense came out a little more fired up, I saw a lot of good awareness and moving to the ball. IIRC I saw the play where Morris got banged up, he went down for a few seconds, but popped back up before kind of hopping, limping off. Glad to hear he'll be ok.

Looking forward to the fall. CatsPa73
