Smack like question....

Post by Topher » Sat Nov 18, 2006 6:10 pm

Question:

How big of an impact does Lulay have on this game? (The one who graduated last year)

HUGE. Those scrambles of Rolovich's would have been first downs, and not 3 yard gains. In a game as close as that one, a few first downs strung together could swing the whole game.

No question about it. Lulay's running ability forced opposing linebackers to stay home and many times he was even touched until he was seven yards downfield.

I agree with the above posts....Lulay was a great QB and could threaten the line with a rush....the oppositon had to a passer and a great runner

Lulat is GONE! Bailey hasn't figured that out yet. I will personally help him pack for the move. Our offense has eaked out all season when we should have put teams away. His second half coaching is more than terrible. Lets all get over Lulay and try to find someone more predictable than Mr. Rogers. Bailey Sucks and there is no arguing about it. Third and one from the shotgun? Complete idiocy. The kids on the field deserve better than that. Goldie Hawn in "Wildcats" knows more about football than this clown.

There's also the obvious upgrade to our punting game.

It was for a better part of the season, but it made improvements as the season progressed. The punt team consists of more than just the punter. The coverage bitch-smacked "Tuff" Harris all day.

uuuuuuh, it's not like Tuff needed to get a whole lot of yards after receiving the ball on his own/or the Cats 45. It would have been greedy to expect more from punt return than what your special teams already gift wrapped.

So to your envious dig on our top notch punt returner I say thaaaank you.

Is that the only positive thing you can say about your team's performance? Pretty sad

At the expense of pointing out the obvious ... he didn't say that was the only positive thing that he could say about the team's performance.

To be fair, though, they were also kicking away from Harris for most of the day, right? I'll grant you that the Cats did do a good job of containing him on the few punts that he did return, but they clearly feared him as a returner.

I could say how the Jizz got stuffed on 4th and 1 to end the half. Couldn't even move the ball three feet. Would that work for you?

I haven't read much else that was positive, other than how the cats were gifted a playoff berth

In all honesty, that's how they have punted all year. Every punt has the intent of kicking away from the returner.

I'm sure they respected Tuff as a returner, but they weren't doing anything special for him that they didn't do all year long (except they didn't hand any easy blocked punts to the Griz, which they did often do for other teams).

If you watched the game, you probably saw about as many positives for MSU as UM ... mostly on defense for both.

But the Griz won the game.

And now we have a new season.

Sorry for deflating your smack. I hope you weren't hoping for too much joy from it.

Seems like we moved the ball 54 yards on one play, and that was enough to beat the scats; and if by "Jizz" you mean that hit on Jefferson, then that would be correct.

No it doesn't, but 13-7 does.
