Kramer makes a great point - Bobcat success really doesn't hinge on Grizzly failure. This is obvious to some, but not to all - especially fans. Finishing this season at 7-4 will certainly be more of a success than finishing at 6-5; but it's because we came back from a tough loss to beat a tough team at their house, not because we beat the Griz in particular.
I've never been to a Cat/Griz game in Missoula (haven't missed one in Bozeman in many, many years) and I'm really looking forward to the atmosphere. I expect some hostility, but also a lot of good natured ribbing and cheering - an all around great game and experience.
I somehow managed to get two extra tickets to the game and invited my brother and his friend - two of the most die-hard Griz fans you'll ever find. Crazy isn't it? I bleed blue and gold. Still, Cat fans and Griz fans are really a lot alike. My brother and I grew up in the same house but are on complete opposite sides of the Divide on this one. I respect him and he respects me. Most fans are that way. We LOVE our team.
Griz - I hope you bring your best game because when its all said and done, that is what ALL of us fans want - a spirited, hard fought battle on the field that ends with hand shakes and recognition that the best team won - whoever it is! I know the Cats are bringing the best they have. When the dust settles, I hope the fans on these boards will show the kind of integrity that the players on both teams have shown all year and give kudos where they are due. No excuses!
Go CATS!
