Well, the Cats won that game in dramatic fashion ... so it was nothing but good vibes from that game. The trauma set in when I was in college, rarely missed a game, and generally watched crushing defeat after crushing defeat with about 4,000 other people. Those were some lean years (end of Solomonson/beginning of Hyell period). It made me appreciate and accentuate the victories when they did come along, though.tampa_griz wrote:Things are starting to make a little more sense now. I can't imagine the trauma. Get some counseling and hopefully they can get that corrected.Bay Area Cat wrote:... and probably a big reason why I am who I am and why I have the loyalties I do today.![]()
Jokes. Good luck this weekend.

I had graduated from high school that summer and was in attendance for that game. So, no need to explain that I was old enough to understand what was happening and the agony I have gone through between now and then!

I'm 36 right with ya... what really makes me feel old is seeing a hot playboy centerfold, born in like 87 or 88 or something and thinking, wow - I was graduating high school when she was born...WYCAT wrote:I was 14 - I usually don't feel old being 36 but when people say they were 1, 3, or born in 1984 I suddenly feel much older.

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

- 24 and fresh out of college.
- Had a brand new little black sports car, season tickets, and a fuzz-buster on the dash. Took me about 4 1/2 hours to make the 360 mile trip.
- Went to every home game in the championship season, including the two playoff games.
One of the best three months of my life!!

I was in the sixth grade and made every home game that year. I'll never forget those playoff games becasue it was the first time I sat in the student section. Wanted to start college that day.
Tex Sicora, and Joe Bignell were my favorites on that team, and of course Joe Roberts after the big INT.

The devil made me do it the first time... the second time I done it on my own.

I was 22 and a senior. That season was one of the greatest falls of my college life. I got engaged to my wife, had a fun time at school (and such
) and the Cats won the NC. The season was incredibly exciting. I think that was the start of the Cardiac Cats (although I may be wrong).
I can remember the two playoff games like they were yesterday. I was in the stands and standing up even with the goal line at the RI game. I can still see Joe Roberts intercepting that pass right in front of me and running it back.
Here's to more good memories this playoff season.
