Anybody in there that was a proud MSU Les Bouffon?

I was a member from about 1993 to 1995.

One night was enough to talk me out of joining!

I did attend a few Buffs formals, though.

I wasn't an official member but knew enough guys in it where I could always get a hold of some tickets.

But BAC already knew that.

I was a member! Can't remember when I joined for sure, but my color was blue for the "formal". It was probably in 95. Many a good time was had on Wednesday nights at KO's then we switched our venue to MT Fat's, I believe.

Pretty sure that i was the president of Buffs in '94.

But not very sure of anything from '92-'95.

Too many beer tickets!

But I seem to remember riding in a U-Haul to our formal.

Oh yeah, I remember that, also. Was that formal maybe at the Fifth Ace Saloon? It's rather a blur.

I only have hazy dream-like memories of the occasion, but I am pretty sure that was one of the most fun nights I have had in my entire life.

I wonder whatever happened to the girl I went to that with? I wonder what the hell her name was? I think she was a Chi-O ... but I'm not sure.

What a great night....

You are right, it was at the Fifth Ace.

And I agree with BAC, it was one of the top nights in my life!

Tell me folks, when going after your first job out of college, do you actually list "Les Bouffon" on your resume'. Even if I was a member I don't know if I would.

I did, actually ... and I believe it helped me. One of the guys who interviewed me in Portland knew what the organization was (although it was properly labelled as a "inter-fraternity philanthropic organization" on my resume), and having someone know that you can participate in essentially a Wednesday night drinking club for several years of your college life and still graduate with decent grades is a good thing ... especially going into public accounting (which is actually very similar in many ways).

I have some friends who were Buffs with you. The initiation just wasn't something I wanted to subject myself to, but I did get an invite back in either '91 or '92.

I personally think that would be so funny if you could find some. Ah the memories!! Seems like one of them was a white trash theme (surprise) and I wore this multicolored terry cloth house coat type deal. So Classy!!

Buff President in 1982. Any other old-timers out there?

My dad was a Buff in the 40's. I was the only one of 6 boys to follow in his footsteps, but I must say he wasn't too proud when he heard the news!!

I did put it on my resume, but listed something like Senior Men's Social Honorary. Probably didn't impact landing my first job one way or the other.

We used to party at St George and the Dragon / then converted to Mothers, across from the Baxter Hotel. Thursday morning classes were not pretty!!

Somebody explain the "Les Bouffon" thing to me, sounds like I just missed it in the mid-90's.

Two seniors were selected annually from each Frat. Started out every Wednesday night at a meeting rotated between Fraternities, and had to finish off a keg before we went downtown. Then went to the same bar weekly and handed out free tickets for pitchers of beer to the co-eds who ventured out to join us. That was the draw, which also brought out a ton of guys. We had tee-shirts we wore every Wednesday, and on special occasions such as formals, etc. we all had tuxes and a banner with a B on it.

Buff formal was just about the biggest party of the year.
