Some may consider this smack but if you mods don't consider a post titled "Northern Colorado what an asset" What's the difference?

You've got to be the least classy fans in FCS. You and griz fans. As someone said on the "Northern Colorado what an asset" thread, it's not smack because it's the truth.

Don't the Northern Colorado Bears have a place where you can spew your crap with your own kind?

You rants are getting old. Not all of us hate Northern Colorado, its programs or its fans but I have the feeling you are pushing some people in that direction.

Most of us hope that your team will be competitive as soon as possible and that you will either go away or start posting something of substance.

Good day to you sir!!!!!!!!

Northern Colorado is a D-II team.

here's hoping the bears win a game next year (against the griz would be great)....I think the "northern...asset" was directed at the relative low level of performance - Northern Colorado is a great school..I hope they push the BSC to get better...until then keep your comments to your own board...

Bears fans - if you want respect, start earning it. Win some games. Boost your attendance. It is not hard to get in the top half of the Big Sky in any sport. You start building a winning program and make the critics eat crow. If you don't understand our viewpoint, then rational thought must not be commonplace in Greeley.

I believe the whole "what an asset" coment was pertaining to the fact that there are schools out there who could have immediately competed in the BSC and have huge followings but were overlooked in favor of NC. No shame on NC, just facts. Sometimes the truth hurts. And by the way if we suck for losing to a D-II school what does that make you since we beat you?

Did you expect us to be competitive right away? It takes time, does it not?

You hit the argument right on the head. Many fans felt the Dakotas would've been competitive right away. Would they have? Hard question. But many think they were in a better situation to be competitive right away, as they were already competitive in the Great West.

Fans of the Big Sky have felt the conference strength has dwindled over the years, and many felt we had an opportunity to bring in a couple schools who might return us to our former "glory". Northern Colorado was not the fan favorite for that reason.

I think NDSU would have won the Big Sky in football this year...

And I think you're right. Hell, I think they would have won the whole thing if they had been eligible (or at least been real close).

GoBears, the simple fact is that Northern Colorado wasn't ready yet. The Dakota State schools have proven that they were. Both are VERY competitive in football and (to a lesser extent) basketball. Will Northern Colorado eventually be an asset to the Big Sky? I sure think so. However, at the time your school was admitted, there were better options out there and the Big Sky screwed up by not letting them in.

Don't get me wrong, I like Northern Colorado. However, I know from VERY personal experience that the university's athletic programs weren't ready for the jump. By thumping everyone that they played this year (with the exception of Minnesota) and putting butts in the seats like they did, it's obvious that NDSU would have been a more valuable choice when the decision was made. I'm not talking about the long term here (who knows what that will bring?), but the short term results are clear.

NDSU moved up different from SDSU and UNC. THey moved up with 63 scholarships right away, which in hind sight was the right move. Both SDSU and UNC wanted to get scholarships incrementaly. SDSU is over achieving more then UNC and NDSU considering their scholarship situation. They have lesser football facilities then UNC but they also didn't go through a coaching staff change last season. Which any good football fan will tell you, especially when the old coach left with little talent, will take time. I believe Kramers first year you didn't win a game? HUM...and some of you think we suck? Give us time before you make to harsh judgements.

You do suck at this very moment. Just like we sucked in Kramers first year. When you don't suck you will know. Hang in there.

Give it time GoBears. Your almost right up there in hoops (just can't get over the hump) and you will be more competitive in football with a little time. I'm glad we have the old NCU rivalry because I can now take a Denver trip every other year and take in an MSU football game as well :)

I enjoyed Greeley. It reminded me of a high school game.
