looking for job

Post by statecat » Tue Feb 13, 2007 11:30 am

I graduated last May and am looking for a new job. The job I am currently at I am not very interested in anymore. I am not doing what I thought it would entail. If anyone could give me leads for jobs in Billings and Bozeman I woulb be gratefully appreciated.

Unless we know what you do, what you graduated in, what you are looking for, we can't help you find what you are looking for.

I graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies. I took alot of Marketing classes and have good knowledge in that field. Really open for anything. Right now I am working as a Claim Representitive for State Farm Insurance. I am willing to learn anything.

If it were me I'd stick it out and try to get into Agency. It is a great career if you can wait a few years. Just look at some of the agents in Bozeman, none of them seem to be hurting at all.

Yeah, like a good neighbor State Farm is there, unless you live in Mississippi and want then to pay claims, then they pull out of the state.
My old college roommate worked claims for State Farm for a while. I can understand why you would want to get out. Good Luck.

One of the best companies you could work for in Billings is First Interstate Bank. I would go check for openings on their website.

When did Montana State get a Liberal Studies program? I've been away from MSU since about 2000 and I don't ever remember a major called Liberal Studies.

And why the name Statecat?

Something doesn't sound right here.

Liberal Studies came in about 2002 or 2003 and has seen very good success and popularity for students. For those of you who were or are History students, David Cherry is the director of the program. http://www.montana.edu/lsdegree/index.html

Sounds like MSU is trying to become as academically challenging as the "Dancing School".
