Anybody remember that Montana Supreme Court case involving the minor league hockey coach from Butte who was fired? He had a mediocre record and thus was fired, but the Court said that was illegal to fire a coach just for having a lousy record.
Now, with Potera, there is also the "having to play while injured" charge, but don't the trainers have the final say on that issue??
This case scares me, but then again, Potera scares me. Msla Cat, do you remember that Butte lawsuit?

I do not remember the Butte case, but remember ,though, Potera and all coaches working for Montana colleges are on one year contracts. Technically potera was not fired, she simply did not have her contract renewed. This case can not be solely about wrongful discharge, because, the University's can let ANY coach go at the end of the season if they wish. The case will most likely involve sexual discrimination of some sort associated with why she was not rehired. Sorry the name of the Coach just before McCarthy escapes me right now, but she was let go mid-season (contract) that made things very difficult for the administration to defend. That said though any time you fire a women and replace her with a man the specter of discrimination will always come up.

Any updates on the progress of this lawsuit? Has it been quietly settled?
And, what is the deal with Potera's advertisement in the Sunday Chronicle? Anything to do with the lawsuit or the end of the Women's BB season? It seemed very, very unusual.
Does she want the MSU job back? The team is still crippled from the boat load of good players that ran for cover under her reign.

Roughly: Look how great the cats became under me. (we beat the Griz and won the reg. season BSC)
Look how bad the cats are now and before me
I still love coaching (but I married a Bozo Doctor that keeps me in fancy cars so I'd have to either coach Bozo high or the cats again) ---that last part was me reading extra into the ADVERTISEMENT---
I still want to coach and I'm great..Love me.

That sounds about right, though I must say I didn't read much past the first few paragraphs. Just couldn't take wasting time on a Sunday reading that crap.jagur1 wrote:Roughly: Look how great the cats became under me. (we beat the Griz and won the reg. season BSC)

Personally, I couldn't stand to go to the fieldhouse or listen to the games on the radio, because all I heard was her screeching voice. Couldn't focus on the athletes.
What kind of doctor did she marry? I didn't know we had an MD in town named Haskins. Dunno. I thought we were done with her. I might go dig through the Sunday paper and check it out. I am assuming sports section.
