McFarland is well aware of what's going on most of the time. He's quick on his feet, especially for his size.

Very good player and from Kalispell. I always root for the kids from this state to make it in the NFL. I hope he does well for the Bills.

I hope he does well, but if my memory serves me right .. Chad Gluhm (undersized/quick DL) of Bobcats ate him alive in Griz game last year. And he will be seeing even bigger/faster guys in the NFL.

Now Now, don't pull a Bobby Hauck. He's a damn good player regardless of how he did against CHad Gluhm in one game. Give credit where due and hats off to another State of Montana boy making it to the NFL!

I did give him credit, just noting that he will see faster/stronger people at the next level. I said I hope he does well.

Congratulations also to Montana native and Big Timber HS product Dwan Edwards, DT from Oregon State, who was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2nd round with the 51st overall pick.

Thought Edwards was from Columbus, MT. O'well still the State of Montana did very well yesterday. I read that Carrothers signed with the 49ers.

canyoncat: You're right, Edwards is from Columbus, not Big Timber. My bad!

Sorry Cardiac. After re-reading your post and my response, it came off a bit harsh like I was slammimg you. My bad - you did give the proper Kudos. I just read it quickly and it triggered my memory of Hauck saying "for as much as they hype Ioane, he sure got his rear-end run over by Justin Green". Later

Like everyone making the transition to the NFL, Dylan will be facing bigger, stronger, faster players. But like I said, he works hard and he will make the cut. Thomas has no idea what he's about to face and I'm sure he will make his presence known after alot of improvement.

Does anyone know if Matt Kegel got taken? If you don't know who I'm talking about, he's Wazzu's stellar QB. He's a Montana boy too. I remember watching my own Hamilton Broncs beat him and the Havre Blue Ponies in the `97 'A' State title game. He looked like the biggest guy on the team....

Another draft update: I-AA's record setter in points Chris Snyder got taken to the Lions as a free agent 15 minutes after the draft....Good luck!!

Doesn't look like it. From the wsu site:
Cougar Draft/Free Agent Recap
WR Devard Darling, Baltimore Ravens (3rd round, 82nd overall)
CB Jason David, Indianapolis Colts (4th round, 125th overall)
FS Erik Coleman, New York Jets (5th round, 143rd overall)
DE D.D. Acholonu, Buffalo Bills (Free Agent)
OL Josh Parrish, Pittsburgh Steelers (Free Agent)
RB Jonathan Smith, Kansas City Chiefs (Free Agent)

According to the Gazette Matt Kegel has signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings. Also, former Capital grad Greg Carothers signed with the 49ers. What a year for athletes with Montana ties. It's great to see.
