Industrial Engineering 2002, played football from 97-2001 (one year short of beating the Griz). My wife has a masters in accounting from MSU. We both moved to Denver after school, but have been living in Bozeman for over a year now. She works at the hospital, and I manage a local concrete company. One kid on the way.

M.S. Statistics 2006
Officially, I finished my degree during the summer, but I didn't start my writing project (think thesis, light version) until August. I completed that, after weeks of hard work, in late September. So, if anyone really wants to read "Glacial Lake Missoula and the Self-Censoring Data Problem," shoot me a PM.
Currently trying to apply the degree in Missoula, MT. Actually, I figured Missoula was as good a place as any to be looking for jobs, since it was a given that I would be moving.

Graduated in the Summer of 2000 with a BA in Media and Theatre Arts (Film and Digital Video). Moved to Atlanta later that fall with what I thought was a sure thing with Turner Sports. Unfortunately Time Warner sold everything to AOL two weeks before I arrived and AOL started laying everybody off. The layoffs included my "sure thing" contact who worked in upper management. I started loading trucks at UPS part-time to make ends meet and I've been there ever since. I'm a Video Production Specialist in the Employee Communications department at the corporate headquarters. So luckily I've been able to use my degree. I miss Bozeman a ton but I just don't know if I can take another winter there. I've only been able to visit once in the last 6 years and that kills me. I'm hoping to make it down for Cat-Griz but with work being so crazy right now, I'm not too sure I can.

I'm new to the site so I figured here would be a good place to make the first post... Graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and am currently (slowly) working towards a Masters in Mathematics while I'm working full-time here in Bozeman for a local engineering firm and loving it!
While in undergrad I was involved in the Greek system at MSU, as well as ASMSU and a bunch of other extracurriculars (Orientation Leaders, etc). Now, I try to give back by getting involved with the Alumni Association (life member ) and the alumni advisory commitee and housing corp. for my fraternity.

We have a lot of new people that have joined the site in the last few months, and every once in a while I like to revive this thread and see if we can get some more posts. If you are new here(or a long time member for that matter) and would like to let other MSU alums know what you are up to now please do so.

I'll bite. I joined the "alumni" category in May, with a BA in History teaching and a BA in French teaching. I'll be using those skills at Belgrade High School in August. However, I plan to return to MSU before long and receive a MA in History, but I figured I'll do a little teaching first.
GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!
My name is Steve, if you'd like to know.

I'll bite too. I also come from a MSU family. Mom & Dad were MSC grads (1956, 1957), also more relatives than I can count. Great-great-great grandpa homesteaded up in the Glasgow/Hinsdale area in 1883, I still hafta go hunting up there whenever I get drawn!rtb wrote:We have a lot of new people that have joined the site in the last few months, and every once in a while I like to revive this thread and see if we can get some more posts. Born in Missoula (wasn't my fault!), grew up in Bozeman from 1970 to 1981 watching Bill Kolar, Sam McCullum, Tony Bodie, Barry Sullivan, Craig Finburg, Mick Durham, Doug Hashly, Arnold McDowell, etc. Lived on South Grand and walked to all Cat games. Became a lifelong Bobcat fan then. I (literally) dreamed of playing for the Bobcats from the time I was 6 years old.
Moved to Butte, graduated Butte High 1985. Signed NLI with MSU for football. Got in a fight with HS teammate Jay Fagan who signed with UM. Got hurt end of redshirt year, gave up scholli, studied Electrical Engineering. Moved to California, finished EE at Cal State LA, doubled up with a CS degree at Azusa Pacific University (remember Christian Okoye?)worked at Southern California Edison (electric utility) for 10 years -- met my wife there and took me 5 years to convince her to "escape from LA." Left HelLA for Portland in '01 with PacifiCorp, got transferred to Eugene in '02, then transferred to Salt Lake City (SL,UT) in '04. Grabbed an MBA from Utah State. Have 2 boys, 5 and 2, with another boy in the oven.
Took my wife to Cat-Griz game in Bozeman 2 years ago, and now she understands! Went to the Cat-Griz satelite last year at Port-o-Call in Salt Lake, great to see quite a crowd! Lovin' life in Utah (even though we're not mormon they let us in), and great to be about 6 hour drive from Bozo (my folks are still there).
I work as the Manager of Operations for Rocky Mountain Power in Salt Lake City (would love to talk to any Bobcat EE engineers who might be willing to work in the power industry here in Utah!!).
Stumbled on your site when Kramer got fired (always liked that big guy). great to have BN to waste time with at work!!

Lived in Seattle for 12 years after graduation. Now live in Great Falls(my hometown) and own a homebrewing supply business. Definitely miss Seattle's fresh seafood, great beers, wines and friends made. Don't miss the traffic.
Cheers!

Graduated in 97 with BS in Earth Sciences, Geography. I have lived in Kalispell for 6 years. My family has strong Blue/Gold history, which helped make a life long Cat fan. After attending Eastern Montana College for 4 years and needing a change I transfered to MSU. As much as I was a cat fan before, going to school there was awesome. I truly think people going to smaller schools really miss out on a lot of the college expierience and opporotunity, at least that was my epierience. My year and a half there was amazing and I wish I had been there all along. Having Season tickets and going to Bozeman in the fall for football games has made me appreciate the college and community more than when I was a student. I joined Bobcat Nation in May and this has become my favorite website.

Hello all!!
First time to post on BN. I have been a lurker. I miss Bozeman sooo much! I graduated in 1991 with a BSN in nursing. I laughed when I saw WYCAT'S comment about appreciating MT. We spent 17 years in that hell-hole of a state before moving to Hamilton in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley. The only problem is all the Griz fans (hubby included). I shut most of them up by asking them how many credit hours they have at that "institution".
Hoping to come see some footfall this fall!
