Well we're always short handed on Football Saturdays with a short work force and all.

I think that would look best. Hell, I wish the existing boxes would have been built on the student side, because a lot of people don't see them every time they drive by or go to a game. It would make our stadium look soooo much better.

Of course, both sides is always better. :D
You guys are doing the best you can with what you have but honestly I would just knock those aluminum bleachers over build new. I mean really I always think about A Cat on a Hot Tin Roof when I see those things. Well hot tin bleachers anyway. I mean really can you call it a stadium? It’s more like going to mini-storage with all those tin buildings and chain link fences. Actually a mini-storage is nicer because it lacks those sh**ty little wooden High School bleachers in the end zones.

Just an outside observation. I would like the Cats to build a good stadium too but I just don't think you can do it remodeling what you have. ](*,)
Cat envy.
Wow that was such a lame come back I'm almost speechless. I'm embarrassed for you........

Not to mention that I don't hate the Cats.
If it's such a lame comeback why do your fans use it all the time? Because they are lame? Garbage in, garbage out.

But what's your point? What prompted you to bring this up?

Our stadium, to the neutral observer is very nice. It's very nice as a stand alone stadium and it's especially nice relative to other FCS structures in the country.

It's also nice when compared to W/G in Missoula. The boxes are better, the Stadium Club (you don't have one) is better. The Stadium Level (you don't have one) is better. The playing surface (grass vs. plastic or even mud vs. plastic) is better. The view is better.

Is it already there? Then you don't have it. And all the crayon drawings in the world won't change that until it's actually there.

My bad. Besides, since when does having a club make a stadium better? Real fans watch the game out in the elements. I like how one poster talks about how how Griz fans are "wine and cheese" types, and then another brags about the great stadium club at the litter box.

Real fans? How would anyone in Missoula know what a real fan is? Last time Missoula fans had to go through any type of gut-check the program was almost abandoned and the U had to beg their richest alum to help them build a new stadium. That's awesome, guys!

Honestly tho, W/G is a great stadium... I mean, it has to be or griz fans just wouldn't support the team, apparently.

Keep bragging about what great fans you are, I'll remember that the next time I hear those deafening boos emanating from the ass of Hellgate Canyon.

I'm not worried about the 'Cats situation, it's just going to take a little more time for us to do it ourselves... I'm not sure you Griz fans can understand what that is all about. Probably not.

How many times do you guys have to be set straight? Denny Washington did not attend the University of Montana, nor did we "beg" him to build us a stadium.
Also, I would love to see the attendance figures during the cats' 0-11 season. I'm not saying ours would be much better if we had a season like that (although I guarantee they would be higher), but no program has high attendance when the team struggles (see Suc State and N. Colorado).
As for this holier-than-thou "do it ourselves" BS, I apologize for the fact that Washington didn't grow up in Bozeman. I doubt that if he had, and wanted to build a stadium there, cat fans would have said "no thanks, we'd prefer to build it with our own funds".

Sorry about that. I like to be accurate, so I apologize about not knowing where he went to school. And as far as not begging him goes... well, I've heard otherwise.

Our attendance figures have never even come close to the pathetic turnout the griz used to post at Dornblazer... not even in our darkest days. What happened there? 500 fans, maybe 1000 for homecoming? Yeah, thats some Griz tradition you won't hear about. Can't remember having that problem at the 'Litter Box'... ever.

Gavin,

1. Please provide ANY evidence to support your contention that attendance at Dornblazer was ever under 1,000 people. Good luck to you in your search.

2. Denny was not solicited for his donation. Believe it or don't. Just know that if you do not, you'll be incorrect.

3. If you believe that Wa-Griz is the reason Montana fans support and watch the Griz, please explain why annually they have the largest number of fans travelling to see away games, including doubling the number of fans in places Eastern, Portland, Sac and UNC (most of which are not exactly nearby to Missoula for those of you geographically challenged).

4. You'll next hear boos coming from Hellgate Canyon late November 2008. They will be directed at the cats.

5. Your A's suck.

Honestly, at the moment, I don't really care to do any research regarding the stank in Msla. But I do think it's interesting how you griz fans always demand evidence with one hand while supplying your own hyperbole with the other.

A little bit pseudo-tyrannical if you ask me. But hey, it's just the internet, so I guess it's kinda cute.

Instead, why don't you just feel free to prove that the games in Dornblazer were always packed with passionate, crazy, screaming grizholes.
2. Denny was not solicited for his donation. Believe it or don't. Just know that if you do not, you'll be incorrect.
Hmm, so says you, propaganda pusher. Regardless, Denny saw the state of emergency UM was in and was compelled, in one way or another, to come to the rescue... thank God for him, cuz apparently neither you nor the other girz "hardcores" were stepping up to the plate at the time.

HA! Yeah, it's a real long drive to from Msla to Spokane, isn't it? All the places you mentioned, aside from UNC, are about 500 miles closer to Msla than Boz. Maybe you need a geo lesson with some basic logic thrown in.

Secondly, several people I've talked to while at Sac claim that MSU has the best away crowd of any team they host, not the Griz. I'm smart enough to realize that it's mostly because of various players' family ties, but they're MSU fans all the same.

According to the hocus-pocus grizophiles, you guys always outdraw the home team at road games. Anyone who can simply look at a T.V. set knows this is just another carebear lie.
4. You'll next hear boos coming from Hellgate Canyon late November 2008. They will be directed at the cats.
I'm sure your players will appreciate us distracting the crowd and drawing the boos away from them.
5. Your A's suck!

You are dead on about that, and it fits in so well with our topic at hand. Note that I still proudly display them as my favorite team.

You must be a Mariners fan, being "inWashington" and bagging on the A's and all... hmmm.

Now that Seattle is in contention for the first time in 5 years, I'm sure it must feel good to be able to again proclaim what a huge M's fan you are.

You see, average griz fan = frontrunner = silly

got it?

Gavin,

Always like reading your post. However Griz fans were in great number at Oregon a few years ago and the numbers at Portland State arealway very high as well. Not to mention when I went to the Iowa game last year the public address announcer said that there were over 1000 griz fans on hand.

1. Nobody ever said there were thousands of screaming fans at Dornblaser, GiW just said that there was certainly more than 1,000.

2. What did you want Griz fans to do, pony up thousands of dollars each to build a new stadium? I don't see cat fans doing that.

3. According to this website: http://www.randmcnally.com/rmc/directio ... f.0&cmty=0
it's 202 miles from Bozeman to Missoula. Unless you mean round trip, none of those cities are even close to being 500 miles farther from Bozo than from Missoula.

4. I can guarantee you 99.9% of the fans who booed were directing those jeers at the coaches (specifically the OC). In no way do I condone booing ones own team, even if it is the coaches, but that was not directed at the players.

5. I know this last one was directed at GiW, but I have always been proud to be a Mariners fan, and always will be.

No joke about it, Savage, the Griz do travel better than any team in possibly all of IAA. I will concede that. Just not quite as well as legend states.

If the Capital Campaign ever gets past "phase-I", that is exactly what you'll see 'Cat fans doing. In fact, a lot of fans are starting to get upset because they can't donate $$$ to the effort.

Brain fart, I was stuck in Billings mode and I meant to write 400 instead of 500. Damn, rough night for me... sleepy time I guess.
