But if I'm a cat fan, with what you've been through the last few years, I'm keeping my mouth shut on this issue. YOu guys have GOT to be kidding me with this. If you want to bring it, just say so. I've got 4 years of smack saved up.

Also, if you think going from Okalahoma to Montana is the penthouse to the outhouse, you clearly know nothing about:

1. College football: To consider OK the penthouse is a joke. To consider UM the outhouse is just plain ignorant.

2. Geography: I've been to Oklahoma (unfotunately) a number of times. There is NOTHING attractive about that state (except the few co-eds who retained the majority of their teeth). Montana on the other hand = Heaven.

3. Anything.
GrizinWA... did you even READ my post? I didn't write that about UM, I only highlighted it. If you're gonna get mad at anybody, get mad at the person who wrote it. I personally don't agree with the statement either, just found it very, very amusing.

(EDIT) If I misinterpreted your angst only being toward the writer, then I apologize... it just happened to follow the cat fan paragraph...
Au, it was toward the posters following you.
If you want to compare the quality of football played at OU vs dUMb, it is a trip from the penthouse to the sh!thouse!!! Further, booby hauk is a complete moron for accepting the loser at dUMb. Thus, when the sh!t continues to come down, dUMb having to forfeit it's 2007 schedule would be poetic justice.
Slow your roll there pilgrim! Are you telling me the big human wouldn't have accepted Quinn if he had come a knockin?

Clay Bignell and Daniel Ogden. I know, I know......DUI isn't the same as underage drinking and throwing eggs at houses. And frankly, I wish we could wave goodbye to Quinn. We don't need him. No offense, but to listen to someone that supported keeping a few players that had got into legal trouble (myself included) lecture other people about cleaning house and getting rid of bad eggs is rather amusing.
First of all, DUI isn't even freaking close to underage drinking/egging. One kills innocent people, the other (unless coupled with the first) rarely hurts others. I know that you weren't equating the two, but I don't think the incidents should even be mentioned in the same breath. It seems pretty straight forward to me:

1. The original author is a douche. As much as the Griz chap my hide, their program is far from the outhouse. A program that could hang with all but the top 40 or so FBS schools, beat the next 30 or so FBS schools and (on a given day) all the FCS schools and dismantle every other team in the country, in all divisions, isn't too damn bad. Additionally, their facilities are great, fan support is excellent, and the location puts Norman, OK to shame. On top of that, Oklahoma is FAR, FAR, FAR from the penthouse (any way you look at it). The penthouse is already occupied with the likes of USC, UF, OSU, etc. Oklahoma's more like a 2-bedroom apartment on the 20th floor with Nebraska, West Virginia, Clemson and Washington as neighbors.

2. Quinn needs to go. Maybe not for the DUI alone, but for the entire body of work. The DUI, his previous run-ins with the law (underage possession and control of a vehicle under the influence?), NCAA violations and a complete lack of remorse/accountability for all of the above. He was given a second chance at UM, a place that 99% of high school football players and 80% of college football players would give their left arm to play at (even though an entire team of 1-armed football players probably wouldn't be that effective) and he has done nothing but spit in the face of the program. I don't think that anyone associated with UM should be ashamed of bringing him on board. As has been stated before, just about every team in the country would have gladly given a player of his caliber the (second chance) opportunity to anchor their line. What those associated with the Griz should be, however, is outraged. His behavior and attitude has been completely insulting and a terrible reflection on the school and the team. He should be on the next bus out of Missoula. Good riddance.

As with everything, the rant above is just the humble opinion of the author...

Not just the humble opinion of the author.

I've been reading and posting and lurking here a bit, but I've never seen a Cat fan so succinctly voice my exact opinion.

Well said. And by not taking a holier-than-though approach with your opinion you get a lot more credit than others. And I agree that given all I know, I wish Hauck would chuck him.

However, Quinn has shown no remorse or apologised for his actions. Did you read the letter from Dan Ogden posted here? He said he realized he made a stupid mistake, apologized, and asked for forgiveness. Gotta compare apples to apples man.

And you see? We get to have ridiculous arguments about who is really sorry, and who was a former player vs. a current player, and who was a coach and who wasn't, and which coach cleans the house and who doesn't....and yada yada yada. It's a dumb argument.

Listening to Cat fans lecture another school about keeping a program clean is like.....well......listening to Cat fans tell another school how to keep a clean program. Funny and nothing more.

Hate to admit it Tampa, but you're right. Hopefully Ash will clean our house and we can put this whole mess behind us. Looking forward to November in God's Country!!

that is a great post. I think every program in the big sky would have given Quinn a second chance, including MSU. I think that the current environment that we are in has made this a more volitile subject.

Just as a technicality, Quinn did apologize through his attorney for his recent arrest. Doesn't make any difference to me on way or the other. Most apologies like this are self serving and made for PR purposes only.
