Hey Felix. Been reading the paper lately?
I wonder how long it will take before cat fans realize that the drug jokes just don't have the same meaning any more?
If they can't figure that out I would imagine that comprehending why Griz gear sells is totally out of the question.

I don't know if it helped or hindered the process but i don't care to see the maroon crap unless we are playing there or them here. I feel your pain.
Now THAT speaks volume about Griz Nation. I can assue you you'd look long and hard to find any ISU stuff in Missoula.
Let's just admit it: The Griz are extremely popular. And good. Let's not forget good.

Get a clue, I am not talking about a few legal issues that BOTH schools have had in the last few years but rather the decades of lethargy and dope smoke hanging over that toilet you call a town.

Uh-huh...and what elk was talking about was the fact that these recent "legal issues" that MSU has had tend to indicate that the "lethargy and dope smoke" may be hanging over Bozeman now, as well (although you'd have to replace "dope smoke" with "coke and meth"). After all, where there are drug dealers...
Bottom line -- you might want to come up with some new material. Griz fans on here have been pretty gracious about not slamming MSU for its recent problems, but it's a two-way street -- you can't expect to bring up the drug thing and not get it thrown back in your face now.
I work as an attorney so that I can afford good scotch, which helps me to forget that I work as an attorney.

You can't call Griz fans hippies and Wal-Mart shoppers in the same thread.. you guys need to pick a stereotype and run with it.
And why is it that Cat fans never want to talk about football? I mean, you guys have won 3 of the last 21 matchups. That is something to brag about.

Pretty ironic to call Missoula lethargic in a thread about how Missoula is schooling Bozeman in the ways of capitalism.

You got me grizzlaw. I am sure the manager has nothing to do with what goes into stores. You missed the only important thing..... I made sure the cut up hats were on his desk with a big note that sad "if you sell this crap i won't shop here" To be honest i was probably the only one that bought. Because there were alot of them just sitting there. They had a stench to them. the banjos are playing and the sheep are calling. You better get off the net. Go Bengals

Oh the irony of an ISU fan talking smack to Griz fans. Looking forward to running you out of your over sized hangar this year.

I didn't "miss" anything. Your initial post said nothing about any note; all you told us was that you bought two Griz hats, cut them up, and left them on the manager's desk. You then told us that you "weren't sure" how that would affect Wal-Mart's carrying of Griz hats. I was merely pointing out that your purchase of two Griz hats actually supported Wal-Mart's (and UM's) bottom lines. That's all.
Since the manager of Wal-Mart was, in all likelihood, an ISU grad and a Bengal fan, he probably thought it was hilarious, but that still doesn't give him an incentive not to sell Griz gear.

I didn't "miss" anything. You didn't write the part about the note saying "blah blah blah...I'll take my ball and go home." All you told us was that you bought two Griz hats, cut them up, and left them on the manager's desk. You then told us that you "weren't sure" how that would affect Wal-Mart's carrying of Griz hats. an incentive will be supporting local athletics....

*That's the first time I have heard somebody attempt to talk smack and admit to shopping at Wal-Mart at the same time.

nativecat wrote:I dont know how many times this has been hashed out on here..........but why the holy heck do they sell griz stuff (hats, shirts, sweatshirts) at local businesses in bozeman?
I just bought a new 3 pack of bobcat t shirtsfrom wally world, and a full half of the display was griz shirts. I understand its business, and the stuff sells, but it really annoys me that that maroon crap is dispalyed just as prominent as the blue and gold of our beloved cats in the home town of the cats.
And what annoys me even more is when i see bozeman high school students wearing griz stuff.........makes me sick.
Bozeman buisness' need to start supporting the cats. Push the Cat products, put up a Go Cats sign on game day, color some windows blue and gold. Come on Bozeman, get behind your team!
Ok, ill get off my soap box now, im out of breath and tired of typing anyhow.
If it makes you feel any better the local sports stores around the Seattle/Tacoma area carry both Bobcat and Griz hats on the hat rack. How the heck does any Montana school sell racks at "Just Sports," "Foot Locker," etc. in the state of Washington when you have 4 big schools (U of W, WSU, OSU, U of O) in an area far far away from both Montana schools? Because there is enough of a fan base over here for both Montana schools.
Possibly the same in Bozeman?
