Good article on Thomas. Glad to see the Packers putting out things like this on him as I know many Packer fans probably said a collective "Who?" when Thomas's name was announced last weekend. I like the qoute at the end from the Green Bay VP of football operations:
Too bad it sometimes seems other nfl teams and analysts don't think this way. I can't tell you how sick I am of hearing "Level of competition is a concern" or "Has not competed against NFL level talent" when reading reports on not just Thomas but any small school prospects. Newsflash, there are no players in the draft that have competed against NFL level talent, they were playing college ball. I don't care if a kid was routinely playing against the best at the college level or not, the talent level of NFL veterans is a far cry from anything he has seen in college."Whether he's from Montana State or Ohio State or Texas, it's the same process," Hatley said. "We want to take who we feel is the best player. It doesn't matter what school."
“Arguing with anonymous strangers on the Internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be—or to be indistinguishable from—self-righteous sixteen-year-olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.” -- Neal Stephenson, Cryptonomicon

Being a Packer fan also, I took a stroll through one of their fan pages. Man, I'm starting to think all sports boards look the same! Fire the coach! This guy sucks! Why can't we get someone like that!!!!
Anyway, the fans were talking about how they thought the draft went and that Sherman (Packer coach and GM) had his head up his A$$ and needed to be fired. Then they got to Joey and all anyone had to say was that they never heard of him but according to his stats he's big and fast. Then they went back to ripping the coach and the other draft picks!!

I'll wager it will take Joey a good year maybe two to get used to the pro game. After that think he will be come a very good pro CB. I was on the ESPN site for the Packers and some of them were saying he could play saftey. I had to chuckle about that knowing Joey's history at UW. For me I am hoping Joey goes on to have a long and successful pro career. Same for the rest of the BSC players who were drafted or signed free agent deals.
I still can't believe that Adam hasn't been picked up yet
Wonder if he will get picked up by some CFT team or an Arena team.
GO CATS!!
