The Griz win is probably good for MSU in the standings...keep all those other teams hanging around .500
Anyway, the Dissly dunk was great. He came out of nowhere and got way up above the rim. A couple nice follow dunks by Beye in the first half as well. Miller's shot at the end was huge of course, I'm not sure what play they were trying to run because Miller just held the ball then jacked up the long 3!
Attendance was 3900+...great crowd though, it helps a lot to have the students back in town.
Edit #3....nice to hear the internet feed is working again. Also, the officiating was about as good as I've come to expect from Big Sky refs.
Standings
MSU 4-0
PSU 4-1
EWU 3-1
UM 2-2
NAU 2-3
SAC 2-3
WSU 2-4
ISU 0-5
One other thing...this is really starting to feel like the '01-'02 season!

Man awesome game last night. These guys really have shown a lot of maturity in the way that they are playing as a "team." It truly is so neat to see the change from the beginning of the year to now. They really seem like the Ohio State style team this year, they are finding ways to keep winning. That shows a lot about the charater of this team. Honestly don't see these guys finishing any worse than 2nd in the big sky. But even if they do finish 2nd, they will be the 2nd team to go to the NCAA tourney for Coach Durham. Good luck this saturday guys!

I can see where this one is going.
Cats win a bunch of close ones that could have gone either way with tip this way or that way. Cat fans get all excited about the team. Team loses last three games of the year. The tips stop going the cats way and everyone is disapointed again. Griz team comes together makes a late season surge and goes to the NCAA.
Really: As the Big man once said, " This team can shoot anybody out of the game, and then turn around and shoot anybody back into the game."

Never mistake activity for accomplishment.
I'm sick of the man because the man is a thief.

Even in it's best years I can't remember the Sky getting more than just the Tourney champ into the field of 64, no way it would happen this year, and no way for the Cats this year.

There was an article a week or two ago in the Flagstaff paper saying that PSU had determined it couldn't host in Stott due to not enough seating as well as not enough room to host ESPN and their equipment. The were looking into the arena that the Blazers used to use. The Chronicle printed similar info a couple days later, but haven't heard anything further on it.jagur1 wrote:velochat: I know that Stott Gym is small and Highschoolish, but why not let them host it? I've seen some crummy places on ESPN for BB games.
Edit-- Was going to add the link, but apparently you have to pay to view archived articles on the AZ Daily Sun website and I don't think the Chronicle ever put theirs online. Here is what the Daily Sun article said as quoted by Belgrade Bobcat in another post here:
If the Vikings win the Big Sky championship and host the conference tournament semifinals and finals, it won't be in the cozy confines of the on-campus Stott Center.
According to PSU sports information director Mike Lund, the Vikings are trying to put down a deposit to book Portland's Memorial Coliseum, the former home of the Trail Blazers.
The Rose Garden is unavailable, because the Blazers host a game March 9.
The Stott Center, which seats around 1,500, is simply too small a venue to host a conference championship game and the swarm of cameras that will accompany ESPN2 and its broadcast team.

Sorry bout that post, what I meant was that regaurdless of how we finish I strongly believe that this is a team that could get hot and win the tourney. There is no way in (you no where) that a Big Sky team would get a bid, especially the way the league looks this year. I truly believe we have a great team but I think that the league is not that competitive this year. Its is a little surprising that I think 1 maybe 2 teams had a winning record coming into conference. Weber is down which is very unusual and there really isn't a Harold Arcenaeu/Eddie Gill/Dan McClintock/Ross Land type player in the league. When a Big Sky team gets beat by an NAIA school that is straight up sad.
I am not taking anything away from the Cats though, I think these guys are really good and I think that truthfully anything below 2nd in conference would be a let down. But the ultimate prize would be for them to get to the big dance, which I bet they will...
