MSU women won first game. UM women beat EW, so all alone in first, I think. A pair of firsts?

Actually that was wrong re: NAU SSU. I think the web site is just screwed up that I was looking at. Then again it is 10:13 on Sat. night...might be my eyes by now.

101 points combined this weekend? I think Kati Burrows of the women's team almost matched that by herself. #-o Even with tonight's outcomes, MSU is probably in the best position of any of the top 4 teams. PSU has 4 of last 6 on the road, EWU 5 of 7, and UM still has to come to Bozeman and win just to split. I don't think we need to worry about missing the tournament this year, but let's hope they can get a top 2 seed, if not get the tourney in Bozeman. It'll almost certainly come down to that final weekend with PSU/EWU visiting MSU/UM.

Complete Standings/Home games left/Road

PSU 6-2/2/4
MSU 5-2/5/2
EWU 4-3/2/5
UM 4-3/4/3
SAC 3-4/4/3
WSU 3-5/3/3
NAU 2-5/5/2
ISU 2-5/2/5

ISU looks like they'll have a very tough time making the tourney..outside of that, looks like SAC/WSU/NAU will fight it out to avoid the 7th spot, perhaps EWU as well if they can't win on the road.

Griz by 10, SSU beats NAU.

PSU 6-2,
MSU 5-2
UM 4-3
EW 4-3
SSU 3-4
ISU 3-5
WSU 3-6
NAU 2-5

MSU is only 3 games out of last with 7 to go. Yikes.

101 points for the weekend-that's pretty stinkin' bad guys.

For a team that's supposed to like to push the ball, and shoots a lot of threes it's downright inconceivable!

Ok, just got back to town and I would like to share what I saw. First I didn't see the Bobcat team that I have been hearing about for sure. The team that showed up in Portland barely had any spark at all. The three players who looked like they wanted to play were Moss, Jefferson and Durham. The rest of the guys were just not playing with any fire. The worst was Dissly. Everytime he had the ball he found the quickest way to get rid ot if without dribbling more than two or three steps. He appeared to have no desire to be playing last night. That really bothered me.

Overall, PSU wasn't that great but they did the little things well, mainly rebounding. WOW! Almost every shot put up by MSU had one guy going for the rebound and four guys falling back on defense. Also when a player would go for a rebound they would swat and try to tip the ball to someone else instead of going up and grabbing the ball!

I don't know what it takes to get this team fired up on the road, but they need something to inspire them. They didn't want to play.

Finally, that gym is a joke. The "reserved" seats were sold out so we ended up standing in the aisle next to the student section. Standing up in a high school gym watching the Bobcats get blown out didn't not make for the most thrilling night. There we plenty of "reserved" seats still empty at half time, but the PSU folks wouldn't let me go sit in one of those seats. What a joke! A division one school should not be playing in that tiny barn.

Overall, a bad night of basketball! I hope the real Cats show up to play next week!
