Okay, I might be beating this social networking stuff to death, but my boss talked me into setting up a Facebook account, so if anyone wants to be my friend (doesn't that sound strange and needy when spoken aloud?) on Facebook, please look me up and ping me.

So - Do you have any friends yet ?

Remember, if nobody can play, you can have imaginary friends - like AG maybe.

They wouldn't even let me out on the playground because even the losers felt too much pity for me, and it was distracting to the recess process.

I have a question about joining the MSU network. It says you need a school email to join??? Yet you can select to be an alum....alums don't have a school email do they?? Am I missing something??

This should probably go without saying. But since I was a human resource manager and it was amazing what we'd find doing a quick search, please be careful what you put (and what your friends put) in sites like Facebook. Believe me, employers (and potential employers) will look. And a lot of qualified people didn't get interviews/offers because of what was on their website.

Those types of sites have a privacy setting on them which allows only people who you know and approve to look at them and I tell all the students I work with on campus to do this to avoid anything embarassing being viewed by us or somebody else. I agree strongly with Grizin that if you are going to leave it public, try not to put topless pictures of you dancing with your drunk cousin on a bar. Probably doesn't look too good before an interview.

Couldn't agree more! I know I have passed on some candidates based on what I have found out about them through some simple web searches.

Hey BAC, is there any chance of starting a BN group on Facebook or is that basically pointless since we can chat on here?

It wouldn't be a bad idea ... it would be a great way for people to put faces (and real names) to usernames. Do you want to go ahead and start one? If so, let me know when it's live, and I will sign up.

If you don't want to do it yourself, let me know, and I can figure out how to do it.

I have to admit that I don't have anything on my computer (or the one at home) that is the source material for this site.

But I hereby grant you (and only you, just in case anybody gets any ideas) to copy any logos from the website itself that you would like to use.

The Facebook group is created. For anybody who wants to join, Facebook profiles are free and easy to set up.
To join the group, just search for BobcatNation.com under the groups category or search for my name, Kyle Stack, and I can invite you to the group.
