Seamus Boxley, Blake Walker, Will Funn...

Post by Barnbat » Tue Feb 22, 2005 4:34 pm

  Going to be in town for a game on Thursday. Seamus had his usual game last time around in the biddy box. (22pts) Will Funn got his usual pile of assists. (10) Gets some steals. Blake Walker had an off night 2-6 from the field. Blake seems to get about 20 pts on a normal night and likes to sneak underneath for the monster slam. I assume the Cats will not be overlooking Mr Walker or having Mr Funn. It might be interesting if the cats handle the three quarter court trap. Seamus will do his normal but if cats keep steals to a minimum he will have less funn. Beware of the Blake.

Oh yeah, there's a basketball game tomorrow with league title implications for MSU. Ooo, it's in Bozeman!! Boxley/Funn and Co. A couple predictions: 1) If this board is any indication of the interest in this game there will probably be less than 4,000 in the stands. 2) PSU is a good team and should win...PSU 62, MSU 56.

  PSU is in the road and we can expect them to be good but maybe lose a close one. Missoulian is in love with SAC State because they won two games at home. Nice but the best SAC will end up is 7-7. Portland State is capable of winning but I think that on the road they will be just competitive enough to lose a close one in Bozeman. If they lose Thursday it is most likely they will come up empty Saturday. Unless Boxley is better than 22 pts and 8 rebounds in a road game which is ok but may be a little tougher this week where there are seats.

Yeah, this board really doesn't compare to efriz, where all of 3 people even bother to talk about fizzlie basketball. If you want a good barometer of basketball interest, take a look at the Bobcat gameday threads and see for yourself how much interest there is. There hasn't been any new "news" this week concerning Bobcat basketball, and how many times do people need to say, "Gee, I really hope we win this week... PSHS should be a really tough game... etc., etc."

  Missoulian says Seamus Boxley had given up on Portland State basketball after sophomore year but they had a coaching change and he decided to stay. Also guard Jake Schroeder is back and was out in first meeting. Boxley, Funn, Walker, and Antone Jarell are seniors which is a bit different than the rest of the conference.

[/quote] Barnbat, I like your mini scouting report. It kind of reminds me of Scooter's report to Coach Dale in Hoosiers. "Watch that cracker box they call a gym, no shots six feet in."

  Everbody is going to be at the game but this is a biggy so would somebody start a game day thread early and go to game and report back after the scrappy win. Forget Seamus but do not let Walker get started.
