I keep reeling myself in by thinking about SHSU and Texas State and SFA. You'd think that if Texas is so overloaded with talent that those schools would rule the FCS.

What I got out of that article is that these guys like to perform for the crowds, like they have in HS, so maybe when they get here they'll re-energize because of the attention MSU-UM generate. I don't think FCS football is as popular as HS and FBS football down there, which may explain why SHSU, TSU and SFA are good, but not great. ????

You have to look at what they have for competition. In TX you have several big FBS schools and 2 pro teams. In MT MSU/UM football are at the top of the sports pyramide(sp). The Cat/griz game is the biggest sporting event in the state (except for the state wrestling tournament )

I think this has already been discussed -- the State Cornholing tourney usually is the second largest event

My guess this is sour grapes because we didn't offer a certain player a "guaranteed spot" on the team. Carlito all your information is just speculation. You have no idea about any of these kids. Your already turning them into people that cant play. How bout we wait and reserve judgement for the next couple years to see what they can do. And stop making assumptions. Also just because you think a player is amazing has no effect on coach ash or his coaches. They probably looked at the kid and found someone better or decided to fill other needs. and 6-5 was a decent record for just a few months of coaching to get the kids ready.

I was really enjoying your posts up until recently. I thought you were a pretty level-headed guy who liked to chatter with a bunch of Montanans. But you're really starting to sound like a dick.

You are not the first, nor will you be the last, person who comes on here and pimps their kid and then lashes out when the coaches decide that other recruits have higher value. I understand the frustration of that sort of thing all too well, but venting at us will do you no good. In fact, it just makes you look bad.

I hope your son walks on at MSU because he wants to be at MSU and wants to get an MSU degree. If his only reason to go to MSU is to play football, and he wasn't recruited for that purpose, he probably shouldn't go there. But football isn't all that important in the grander scheme of things.

It's unfortunate that you feel as though MSU owes your family something for having once had something to do with Montana, but unless you have a wing of the school named after you for having donated a lot of money, that sort of thing probably carries very little weight.

I would have him walk on and if he is indeed the real deal he will definately be rewarded with a scholarship by Ash and his staff his next year. MSU has been very good at rewarding players that come in and work and do well on the field.

The real issue is that Ash and staff probably got the information a bit late, and their hands were probably already tied with offers they wish they could now take back. Go look at the footage on You Tube. There is nothing they didn't like nor was there any player more capable. You are crying about losing players to Colorado School of Mines for God's sake. We walked away from a Mountain West school last summer (in the most temperate climate in the US). We were communicating with UDub yesterday. This isn't about being left out, it is about playing in the school you own. The place you truly belong.

Furthermore, I will never root against Montana State, Montana, Western Montana, Montana Tech, etc., since it was the foresightedness of my own essence that created you all (plus the forty hour work week for miners, and even federal law that was very nearly plagiarized from the original constitution). My name is on every wing of each of these schools.

Wow! Very level headed for sure. First off...who are not Montanans. I wouldn't be throwing that claim around as many people here are from multi-generational Montana families and still take a lot of pride in being from this state.
