Next Year is for Losers
You can't find a better guy than Coach Durham but we Alums/Boosters need to tell Mr. Fields that we deserve a better Coach than Mick.
Anytime to you tell your team that your chances of winning equate to winning Lotto America 26 weeks in a row then you're going to lose. Mick, I love you like a brother but your time has come to move on. Happy Trails.
GO CATS!!

My god you've got to be kidding me. He took a team projected to finish last in the BSC to second.............SteelheadBum wrote:You can't find a better guy than Coach Durham but we Alums/Boosters need to tell Mr. Fields that we deserve a better Coach than Mick.

I think it's interesting that clearly the best team during the regular season lays an egg at home. The other five teams were all about the same --- really bad.
That said, I thought Weber and um were clearly playing the best ball down the stretch.
So does the winner tonight play LA-Laff in Dayton in the play-in game?

No way Montana plays in the play-in game, very little chance that Weber can avoid it if they win. There are guaranteed to be 3 teams in teh tourney with an RPI over 200. I posted this on another board:Bleedinbluengold wrote:I think it's interesting that clearly the best team during the regular season lays an egg at home. looking at the worst conferences and Team RPI of those who have made it or can still make the dance, the Griz have a shot at a 15 seed if they win tonight, probably against Arizona. There is no way the Griz should be in the play-in game.
Griz RPI is 174. Oakland from the Mid-Con is in, and they have an RPI of 219. The highest RPI for a team in the SWAC (Alabama A&M) is 237, and for the NEAC (Wagner) is 212, so there is 3 slots. Delaware State from the MEAC is at 136, but the 2nd ranked team is Hampton at 176, so a mild upset might bring the Griz another spot, on the cusp of a 15 seed.
It would probably take an upset in the Southland, or preference based on geography to get the 15 seed, but it is not so far fetched, especially when you consider the Griz would be riding a 6 game winning streak (9 of their last 11) into the tourney, and the NCAA will forever owe the Griz some mercy for that 64th seed they gave the 23-7 Griz in '91 against undefeated UNLV.
Of course if the Griz lose tonight then none of this matters, and Weber State with their 241 rpi probably get the play-in game.

I've asked this question before & I feel it's time to ask it again:
Is it too much for us to ask to be as excited about Men's Basketball every year as we are about Bobcat Football?
Mick may be a decent coach, but he generates ZERO enthusiasm for his program. Kramer has SHARED 2 BSC titles in five years but I, along with most Cats I know, can't wait for football season EVERY YEAR.
I simply want to see some passion in the BBall program again and I KNOW that Mick is incapable of generating that, no matter how many recruits he signs or games he wins in December & January...

Grizzlies: 2-5 when it matters most
