First, I listened to the game last night on the radio, and give the Bobcats credit for keeping the game interesting. Although Montana built up a big lead, and the 'Cats never put together a run to close that lead, they never let the Griz get on a run to put the game out of reach. It seemed like a game where the benches really did a lot of work (for both teams), and it was great to hear a Portland announcer who got up for great plays by both teams.
That being said, I hope some of you are decent enough to watch the Big Sky championship tonight. It's a battle of the two most successful basketball programs (in terms of Tourney appearances) since the founding of the 'Sky, and should be great game. And, the ESPN2 announcers will probably refer to the Grizzlies as Montana State at least once, so you can heckle that all you want.
And, I would like to thank all the Bobcat fans for a great basketball season, including some great games at the Brick.

I'll be watching, not rooting for anyone necessarily, but I'd be lying if deep down I said I didn't want the Griz to lose. I said this is a different post though, and on e-griz as well - if you do win, I will be rooting for you 100% in the NCAA tournament. I always root for the Sky teams, and the Griz are no different. I can't do it in football, ever, but basketball I can because I'm not a die-hard basketball fan like I am football.
Nice post though, appreciate it. It's post like that where I actually wouldn't mind the Griz winning, but then I go reread the Cat/Griz gameday thread and erases any chance of that happening.

Nice post CelticCat. And contrats on the 'Cats having a great season, even given last night's results. I especially appreciate your sharing your hope that Montana loses tonight to Weber State. As a Griz fan, I used to cheer for the 'Cats if the Griz were out of the game just because I liked to see teams from the Treasure State win, but like you, I got over that. If the shoe were on the other foot now, you can be sure I'd be praying the 'Cats, and especially each and every Montana kid on the 'Cats team, would lose to Weber. I'll always root for the Sky team in the NCAA Tournament, 100%, no exceptions, but I'd be lying if deep down I said I didn't want the 'Cats to lose, even in the Tournament, because I'm a die-hard basketball AND football Griz fan. Really nice post, though, CelticCat. It's posts like that where I wouldn't mind the 'Cats winning, except in basketball, and football .... and volleyball. And soccer, of course......CelticCat wrote:I'll be watching, not rooting for anyone necessarily, but I'd be lying if deep down I said I didn't want the Griz to lose.
