There were a lot more fans in Brick Breeden for a championship game on a neutral court in 2002. Although I understand the reasoning for the current setup, something needs to be done to keep the championship game a display that makes the conference look good.
How about this format? Whichever team leads the 'Sky in conference season attendence gets the host the tourney. The tourney will make money, as that team should sell piles of tickets. Granted, this would mean the tourney would be in Bozeman or Missoula most years (and possilby Ogden when the Mildrats get hot), which makes it convenient travel for the programs that usually outdraw the rest of the 'Sky (sometimes sans Weber) combined. And, it would give each 'Sky program incentive to sell tickets to regular season games.

Ahhh yes... UTAH! A place where even the homeless people are soberBozoneCat wrote:I'm pretty sure Weber leads the conference in attendence just about every year, and who wants to travel down to Ogden for a basketball tournament "vacation?" Seriously, what kind of god-forsaken place doesn't have a bar across the street (or at least within walking distance) from the arena?!?!![]()

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I thought I would look it up.

Weber St. 13 64,797 4,984
Montana 14 50,468 3,605
Montana St. 15 54,665 3,644
Eastern Wash. 12 33,184 2,765
Idaho St. 12 25,683 2,140
Northern Ariz. 12 21,386 1,782
Sacramento St. 14 14,241 1,017
Portland St. 11 10,793 981
Good point, Montana State needs more fans to host the men's tourney (although the average is for all games, not conference games). Maybe the 'Sky needs to start scheduling on Sunday.

Since the Dee Events Center holds over 11,000, there would have been some empty seats at the MSU game.BelgradeBobcat wrote:I think the Weber number is somewhat dubious. I saw the MSU-Weber game on TV and attendance was listed at 4000 something. The place looked empty. 4000 at Worthington or Adams doesn't look empty.
