Hey Admins

I have a general question for you about this site. You may answer it if you like or not if you feel I am prying. What is the coat of keeping this site open! I notice over on Egriz the are hawking every thing from add space, the Girls of Montana , super secret griz forum, wrist bans, life time memberships among other things. I also noticed you started out with a sponcer Universal Athletics but we seem to no longer have them on board. Are you guy's supporting this out of your oown pockets or is it mainly time that you invest!?

I'll respond as I don't mind the question. Currently the site is being run on out of pocket expenses. Really it hasn't been overly expensive due to a pretty good deal on the hosting that we are using. There has been pretty big time investments to get things going, but it is not really constant, just when we have new things going. I personally spent a lot of time initially and then with the later site redesign and then again getting this bracket challenge thing going and I know the other guys have spent good chunks of time on various things. Originally we had a verbal agreement with Universal Athletics, but for different reasons it did not work out and we mutually agreed to remove the ad from the site. The three of us have discussed different methods to try and raise some money to cover the operating costs(and actually have been discussing it all again recently), however have not come up with anything definite yet.

I think that pretty much answers all of the questions, but if not I will be glad to answer.

I think we should charge Bearbac for any post that at least 2 of the 3 moderators finds questionable. Since at least 95% of what he writes would fall into that category either any financial issues or Bearbac goes away. That works for me

A possible source of income would be the MSU book store. Offer them a link to their site at a monthly cost. I would think that it would be a good use of some of their advertising budget.

I witheld the info about all the free beer we get from an anonymous donor for keeping the site up, cause I would have had to kill you if I told you that part.

One would think that would be a good match, but while we haven't actually talked with Bookstore, we have found that any entity that is officially tied to the University pretty much will not want to be associated with the site. The stigma and ugliness often associated with Internet fan message boards is just not something they want their name attached to in most cases.

Not a bad idea, unfortunately I don't really have time to be out soliciting sponsors right now. If you have some contacts that you think may be interested shoot me an email or something. Thanks.

What about that leprechaun that is used to be around downtown Bozeman....he could sponsor you......they know where the pot o gold is! Maybe get Bridger Bowl or Big Sky to sponsor..........my final dumb idea for sponsors is a gentlemans club.........you could have a Bobcat Nation/Showgirls car wash with proceeds going to this site.

There really isn't a RE/MAX of Montana, since each office is indpnt. owned and operated. KMAX I'll PM you some ideas.
