Best DB next season?

Post by spider » Fri Mar 25, 2005 9:23 pm

I'm not at all concerned with our secondary next year. With that said who do you think will be the MVP of the defensive backfield.

I think it will be Kahiam Hunter. The guy has some mad cover skills. If he is not a first team all-conference corner next year I will be surprised. I'm guessing five + picks. Just wait and see! :D

It's hard to say who will be the best DB next season because everyone will be different. We don't know how Kahiam will be after his surgery this will be the first time in a while he will be doing full contact. Also, Eddie is the same way we dont know how he will be you have to remember be got HAMSTRING surgery.

As far as Chris Davis we cant really judge him yet, only on what kramer says. From what i know i heard he was really good, part time starter at New Mexico State. We never know he could be the best db who ever came through montana state.

I was very impressed with the way Fuller progressed last season. He was hitting hard, sticking with his man, I think he is going to be a great DB if not this year, next year. But I voted for Force mainly because Force was strong all of last year, and his natural position is safety, and now that is he back at safety, he is yet again going to be a Force. :D

TIME FOR A DRIVE-BY POSTING FROM EL GATO.

I voted for Fuller because I think we only saw a fraction of what he's capable of; I don't think Force can play much better than he did last season. Don't get me wrong, Force was HUGE last season but I think Fuller has a tremendous upside.

Time will tell.

GO CATS!

I voted for Fuller because I think the average Southeastern DB high school senior is better than most college juniors and seniors here; this is one position we're guilty of overcoaching and it screws with these kids heads almost as bad as long snappers, holders and kickers. Leave him alone and let him play instinctively and he'll be better than our Packer. I'm sorry, this was just a poll--I should have just voted and not commented

Good post, sometimes focusing so intently on a weakness can turn well intended coaching into intimidating micro management. I’ve posted before, I don’t care what it takes, I want to see the cats start strong playing 4 qtrs of improvement ball, each qtr, each game we see improvement. I hope this is the year we break the slow start. I think the slow start can often be attributed to over coaching, resulting in kids playing scared and tight. A tribute to our coaching staff for giving it 110%, but, there has to be a balance, coaching is all about motivating players.
