OK, I know this post is not going to be popular, BUT:

In three years at QB Travis has only been consistant and reasonably accurate for 3/4 of a year (last year). His freshmen year he did great for a freshmen but was inconsistant all year. His sophmore year he never recovered from the four interceptions in the Wyoming game until very late in the year (Kramer made the same assessment). And last year he could not hit the broad side of a barn until the fourth game. He was hitting receivers in the foot from 10 yards away with no one in front of him. After the fourth game something clicked and he was great the rest of the year.

Don't get me wrong, I think Travis is great; he is tough as nails, the best overall competitor I have ever seen and no game is out of reach with him at QB. My only point is that he has not been a great passer (NFL caliber) in his career. I do believe he will have a great senior year and it will be interesting come draft day but if the NFL was looking at the first three years then I don't think so.

I disagree with you on only this aspect. It does not matter how well travis does in games his first couple of years, i bet that if he has the same type of year this year that he has last year that he will have a roster spot and a draft slot for him, hell the backup quarterback for USC got drafted.

I wouldn't call someone throwing 386 yards and a TD on you shutting someone down, but you did contain him. But it's not that hard to stop a one-dimensional offense.

Hey bearbac,

If just watching tape means teams will shut TL down, then I guess Lex might as well head off to the Arena League or the CFL. Once teams see his no-show in your last 2 games, they'll obviously take him right out of the game...

Just using your own logic against you...

Yeah, I know, griz logic IS the ultimate oxymoron...

So, the game plan for the Griz is to let some unproven QB toss the ball up for grabs just because their WR's are tall?

Sounds like a great gameplan...

For Griz opponents.

(I'm pretty sure you won't be hearing "first down Montana" when you play us this season.... IN BOZEMAN)

Maybe if Travis had tossed the ball up, instead of at the D lines Heads , you might have had a different out come last year!

Ya, I think that's why Hauck is going to be useing (3) 6'4" receivers at the SAME time and a 6'5" TE, maybe he already thought of that.

How tall are the DB's on your team? Will their ten yard cushion, be normal again this year? 1st Down MONTANA!!  [/quote]

Yes they are tall but that group has got to be the slowest group of receivers to ever play BSC ball. If their height is a problem we will just put our D-Lineman on coverage. They could easily keep up!!
