Game I will always remember is the comeback win against NAU two years ago. I still get excited when I think about the end of that one. May have to go home and watch that episode of The Line now. :D

All those poor saps that left early missed something special that day.

Recently...

Corey Smith returning a punt and a kickoff against Gardern Webb a few years back. Corey also returned 2 punts for TDs against Suc St later in the year.

Travis Lulay's comebacks against Weber and PisSU last year and against NAU the year before. Actually, I dont remember those being spectacular games for Travis, but the comebacks he orchestrated are the 3 greatest come from behind victories I have ever witnessed.

NAU game 2 years ago with Lulay's great comeback. I had left the stadium with 4 minutes to go in the 4th. By the time I got to the vechile, turned on the radio I was pissed at myself for leaving. But to late to turn back.

1984 was full of them however, for me, I can't remember any play or moment that gave me more sheer pee my pants joy than watching Cory Smith running back the opening kickoff vs. da griz!

That '84 semi-final playoff game against Rhode Island in which they had the lead late in the game and were methodically marching down the field for the GAME-CLINCHING score, and Joe Roberts steps in front of the WR, intercepts the pass, and goes 84 yards for the go ahead score. That has got to be one of the greatest plays in Bobcat history. I'm glad I was there. I know it was just one play, but it was the whole ball game for me.

84 was a season-long highlight reel...

Epic battles with Nevada Reno (4 OT's, I believe?), Boise State, Fresno State (last minute victory sealed home field & a MUCH-NEEDED week off), the unbelievable semi-final game with Rhode Island (who can forget Tex Sikora nearly tackling Joe Roberts on his way to the endzone), countless QB's being WHIPPED to the ground by Mark Fellows...

Oh yeah, and we thumped the fiz in Marijuanaville...

Another 1984 play. Bosie State. I believe it was fullback Jesse Jones who took either a pitch or little swing pass from Bradley, managed to fight his way to the sideline, and went about 50 yards fighting off or running over every Bronco at least twice on his way to a TD and winning the game 22-18.

FOR SURE!!! That was so great to be in the stadium with the 100 or so people that actually stuck around. That was absolutely great and then to top it off didn't they show the Griz losing on the big screen? I don't know for sure if that was the same weekend, but it seems like it was.

As far as moments go though, watching Corey run that one back against the Griz was pure sweetness!

I don't really remember them all that well, but a couple years back weren't there a couple games that Ryan Johnson rushed for over 200 yards. Woulnd't those have to be included in best individual performances?

Also, Touchdown Tony Vallez had some spectacular games.

I gotta think that the game last year (i think it was last year) where Roger Cooper had to get iv's at halftime due to being sick, and they took him to the hospital afterwards, has got to be one of the guttier performances.
Although who knows how many guys have played with all sorts of illnesses and injuries.

How about the game Paul Schaeffer had against the Griz in 1968. He rushed like 38 times for 234 yards with a separated shoulder. At least twice he left the game with his shoulder drooping only to go to the sideline and have someone jerk it back into place and go back out there. He scored the winning touchdown on a goal line plunge right in front of where I was sitting. He cut to his right, hesitated to let the linebackers dive in the hole, and then dove in. He was one tough SOB...and a good friend. He died tragically in a skiing accident.

My favorite performance was based on just one play. Argueably the greatest Bobcat play ever:

1976, Cats vs NAU at home. Both undefeated in conference play. Winner goes to the playoffs, loser stays home. End of the first half we are up about 10. NAU has the ball on our 35 or 40 yd line. With no time on the clock NAU throws an incomplete pass into the end zone. Personal fowl is called on the Cats. Because the half cannot end on a defensive penalty NAU gets one untimed down at our 20 - 25 yd line. Instead of kicking a field goal they go for the end zone. On the pass Les Lenniger busts through the line and blocks the pass attempt. The ball goes almost straight up and Les runs under it and takes off for the our end zone (75 yards away). Thankfully Les had a 10+ yard head start because Les had about a 6 sec 40 time. The NAU QB caught Les at our five and the two fell into the end zone for a Cat TD. We went on to win the game, the conference and the National Championship. BEST PLAY I HAVE EVER SEEN!

Indeed...not to throw water, but it was a TE look-in that RI ran several times before and JR just "had a feeling that they'd run it agains".

Do you remember the next KO? Cats recover a botched return, and then on the next play run about a 35 yard TD? Next thing you know, Cats win by a bunch but............

Two of my favorite games even though the CATS lost (dammit). One was in 97 how we were in it till the end with the griz. Long march at the end of the game to score the go ahead td. Who was that little RB that season? Great game on his behalf!!!

My other favorite performance was also during a CAT-griz game. Griz kick-off after a Davey Dick td. Sean Hill takes it at about the five. Races up the middle untouched for a td. Sean's ankles were hurting so bad he could hardly walk the week before and after the game. That was gutsy.

Eric Kinneman scored the go-ahead (but sadly short-lived) TD to put us up 22-20...

Not to nit-pick but since I was there the Kinneman score in 97 put the Cats up 25-24. Geoff Grochelle and the MSU CBs were my Bobcat heroes of the day  ....anyway back to your discussion....

You're right. Apparently my attempts to block that day out of my memory are starting to work...

Make that 97 yards.
