The Best Game Ever
Well you can not argue with The National Championship games we won. Bobcat teams beat the best of the best in those years. How about early 90's beating Idaho, who was the number one team in the country when we played them. Wyoming in 97 or 98 ?? Nick Morasko had two or three sacks and it came down to the wire high 40's score. My favorite game though after watching a lot over the years was 10 - 7 in 2002. The D really cam through and BOBCAT FANS needed that one bad. MSU never had a let down play and dominated from start to finish. THANKS 2002 team especially Joey Thomas, Cooper, Junior, Ryan Johnson, Lulay, Montoya, and the O-Line.

AMEN to that. My friend was drunk off his @$$, and all he could say was "DID YOU SEE THAT?? CAN TOU BELEIVE WE RAN THE OPENING KICKOFF BACK FOR A TOUCHDOWN?!?!?!!??" over and over and over. He fell over and almost started a human avalanche (hes a big guy) LOL!!! Ahhhh good memories!raincat wrote:1984 was full of them however, for me, I can't remember any play or moment that gave me more sheer pee my pants joy than watching Cory Smith running back the opening kickoff vs. da griz!

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Although who knows how many guys have played with all sorts of illnesses and injuries.
That game was the coemback against NAU two years ago. I remeber seeing Roger and his parents leave the stadium in an ambulance and Kramer talking about how he spent the whole day before throwing up and sleeping in his office. The was really a great individual performance because of him being so sick and he was the main reason that our defense was able to stop NAU (they were good that year and made it to the playoffs).

My all time favroite game is the 1998 comeback win, err loss. against Portland State. Rob Compson hit a reciever to tie the game late in teh 4th quarter solidifying a 3-4 touchdown comeback *sorry luley as much of a fan I am of yours your comback is not as impressive as rob's* Even though the cats ended up loosing the game - the fact that it was a close one was jaw dropping.cat_man_08 wrote:HelenaCat95 wrote:I gotta think that the game last year (i think it was last year) where Roger Cooper had to get iv's at halftime due to being sick, and they took him to the hospital afterwards, has got to be one of the guttier performances.

my all time best play is when Farhad Azimi hit a tight end for like a 50 yard touchdown pass...i was thinking....we can pass the ball?!?!?!?!

I don't recall anyone saying NDSU is cupcakes, I believe it was the Griz who made the claim up until a few years ago.
Also, that little tidbit of yours has nothing whatsoever to do with this thread, try putting it in the right spot - I'm guessing that's a problem for you.

My favorite play was the pick Roberts returned for the go ahead touchdown in the playoffs; favorite game was when we beat LA Tech in the title game. We were about a three touchdown underdog in that game going in and the best performance would have to have been Don Haas' senior year--I doubt if he would have been allowed to play today with the injuries he had--offensively. Can't list all the great defensive plays I've been able to watch...

Kevin Lundstrum made that tackle. What a great way to end a ball game. ISU marched all the way down, using timeouts and great ball control to get to the four with just enough time for one play. They score the TD, they win the ball game.Cat Grad wrote:Okay, I think I remember my favorite defensive team effort. Either 96 or 97 Idaho State was in Bozo and we held them on the one as time ran out.
I can't say that I am great friends with Lundy, but we are aquaintances. That day he made that play was also his 21st birthday!! Better than any drunk nite I can remember.

I would also have to say the win in MIssoula in 2002. I was sitting in the Griz Booster section with my avid and rabid griz in-laws, and it was surreal. The blocked kick by Joey and then the great touchdown pass to Junior. I just kept my eye on the clock. Man the defense really played that game. Of course I loved the fact the "Johnny Montana" had his picture all over the tickets for that game, and they lost. In fact I think I still have it. God I can't wait until the season starts!

I feel very sorry for grizhatr; imagine the family get togethers aren't much fun because for whatever reason I'm rather certain "that thing" and their playoff appearances, etc. will always distort any attempts at civilized conversation. I've got a couple of their graduates as associates and they whine and snivel about what rotten fans we are--after just two in a row. Ask them what it must have felt like from 85 to that game to have been on our side and...well...that's okay with them
Can dish it out but can't take it
That was a good feeling to finally put an end to the losses, I must agree. Complete team effort on defense, special teams and enough of an offensive showing in the second half to win. Must have been pretty tough to have been "one of them" and watch that offense go down the field and not get into the endzone...

Its not that bad, really. They were in total shock. And that was the year that we started, whoever loses, buys dinner. So, of course they bought that night and we went to The Depot. And so you do you suppose was there? Coach Glenn and his recruits. It was so damn funny, because we made a conscious effort to parade around the dining room on our way to the salad bar pointing to our MSU logos. I did go and watch them play against Northwestern in their first playoff game, so we try to be supportive. Of course I showed up wearing my Bobcat stocking hat to piss off their friends near the NEZ. Needless to say, one of their witchy wife friends told me that if the Bobcat's were in the playoffs, she would never go to their game nor cheer for them. Nice huh?

Rather typical, actually I think I read someplace that the kick return for a touchdown was the only one in the Cat-that other place game? Is that, then one of our best plays ever?
These are the only two that I know of. Both by BOBCATS of course.94VegasCat wrote:Two of my favorite games even though the CATS lost (dammit). One was in 97 how we were in it till the end with the griz. Long march at the end of the game to score the go ahead td. Who was that little RB that season? Great game on his behalf!!!
My other favorite performance was also during a CAT-griz game. Griz kick-off after a Davey Dick td. Sean Hill takes it at about the five. Races up the middle untouched for a td. Sean's ankles were hurting so bad he could hardly walk the week before and after the game. That was gutsy.
